Have you ever made choices you instantly regret but know that your future self will be proud of? I've felt that whenever I sit the gravity drop ride, when I bungee jumped at the age of 18, climbed Mount Fuji, agreed to sleep overnight ON a glacier (i.e. on top of ice!!), and skinny dipped. Doing more of what scares you makes me feel alive & youthful! Here's to us feeling forever young! #BATWxVietnam ️‍♂️@seanlee.kh

One of the reoccurring questions we get asked is about tipping. Should you tip, how much should you tip? Here’s what we say on the website: “Tipping is a Western custom and not particularly expected in Vietnam. In restaurants, cafes, bars and taxis you do not need to tip but it is polite to round off small amounts i.e. 185,000 (to 200,000 vnd). Staff in spas and salons often live on tips, as their salary is typically rather low. A good service here can be rewarded with 25,000vnd – 80,000vnd depending on the cost and quality of the treatment.” Having lived here for a while we can see how tipping can negatively affect a culture but it’s difficult. What’s your view on tipping? . ———————————— . If you’re coming from Tam Coc, the road to Bich Dong Pagoda is simply gorgeous. At a given point, you’ll be surrounded by huge rice fields with limestone cliffs as a backdrop. Definitely worthy of stopping for some landscape photos! Bich Dong Pagoda itself is a set of 3 temples enclosed in a mountain. To explore the highest one you need to pass through a series of caves. At some point it’s pitch dark inside, so watch your step! Inside you can find several Buddhist images carved in stone and hollow stalactites on which you can play some tunes. Some of these caves were used by the Viet Minh to hide from the French during the First Indochina War.

. ———————————— . You guessed it yesterday, we are in Ninh Bình! Today back in history with a full day visiting the temples of the Vietnam Kings of the 10th and 11th century. This is King Dinh Tien Hoang's. Oriented towards the east, it is surrounded by an enclosure delimiting a space of 5 hectares and hides under the shade of centenary trees, with several gardens of fruit trees and ornamental plants. It is truly impressive to see how much a temple dating from 924 can be preserved as well as in total harmony with nature.
