Dx: Suspected Pterygium Background: Theoretically one might explain that a Pterygium is a conjunctival growth into the cornea typically present in young and middle aged patients. It appears as a triangular growth encroaching a variable distance onto the cornea with the base arising from the conjunctiva, with a preference for the nasal side. Can be associated with a history of exposure to ultraviolet light, wind and low humidity. N.B.
