Tom maintains that, above all else, naps are his highest priority. This chill guy hails from southwest Virginia, but realized he was destined for city life after arriving at our DC Cat Cafe! Tom loves to window watch, and spends his free time chirping at the twinkle lights until he drifts off to sleep. He is still looking for his forever home, and would do well with another young cat or kitten to keep him company! If the other cats here could give references, Tom would have two paws up from all of them.

The desert willow (Chilopsis linearis) has magnificent, pink spring blooms. Its large tubular flowers attract insects,
hummingbirds, and bees, and desert willow’s nectar reportedly makes some of the best honey in the country.
This southwestern tree is not normally grown in the Mid-Atlantic region because it is not adapted to our climate. However, the tree can survive if protected from extreme cold and given excellent drainage. The unique microclimate produced by the southern exposure of this outer wall allows this desert species to grow in our outdoor garden.
