This is soo embarrassing to share on here...⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ But for years, I was terrified of riding a bicycle ⁣⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ I never properly learned when I was kid (ya girl never graduated from training wheels! ‍)⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ And... I am actually petrified of fast-moving vehicles (put me on a rollercoaster and you'll find out ) ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ But I eventually realized I was missing out on some reallyyyy cool experiences when traveling ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ So I ended up enlisting a friend to teach me, and eventually got on a bicycle properly when visiting Hokkaido, Japan ⠀⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ This is embarrassing, but those first few hills were actually TERRIFYING (sometimes I pushed my bike instead of cycling downhill ) and I even fell off at one point. ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ I was so shaken, but the pride of surviving my first fall... made me get back on again ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ In this case, my love of travel has led me to learn an actual skill (hey, riding a bike is a useful skill... right)⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ Who here has learned or taught themselves something specifically because of travel? ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ Any other non-bike riders here? Or am I the only person on here who didn’t know how to ride a bike into adulthood? Surely not... right ⠀⠀⁣⁣⁣ ⠀⠀⁣⁣

Throwback to a sunny, clear day in japan We got woken up by the weird and funny noises of the ostrich, as the sun rose over @hopihillsfarm , where we were staying. The goats, dogs and alpacas were also awake. The #hopihillsfarm is often referred to as “the snowiest farm on earth” with an average snowfall of about 12-16 meters As we got out on the mountain to explore @kirororesort , we quickly found fresh tracks. Not many people were around. A peace no words can describe rushed into my body as the sound of my board gliding though the fresh snow became my focal point. The decorated trees and the glittering sparkles in the snow made for a perfect winter wonderland. In the distance we saw the ocean - a very rare experience as it’s mostly snowy days here in the winter. I could not help but bring my phone out and capture some of this moment to share with you. The beauty of social media is that we can share things and moments that inspired us. When your hotel’s name literally translates as “cake kingdom” you know it’s gonna be a grand one! I mean how cute are the pink elevators right? Love how family friendly @gateauxkingdom_official is too from food to amenities!! And since the hotel is owned by a confectionery (thus the name), you must try their pastries!! #Hokkaido

#Sapporo, you have my heart Remember the film #KitaKita? #OtaruCanal is one of the movie’s iconic spots! After watching it I was like, I must come to visit #Hokkaido asap! And it exceeded my expectations to say the least. It has waaaay more to offer than beer, ice cream, and winter wonder!
