Hey all you Disney animation buffs out there, I was hoping you could shed a little light on this drawing here. This here is one of my most prized possessions. It’s an actual production drawing from 1938 that was used in the making of the Brave Little Tailor. I bought it at an auction from @vegallery a few years back. My question is this. Does anyone know who drew this frame? Judging by the underlying red pencil work, I assume that 2 people worked on this drawing. I think the key animator drew quick reference line work, and the animator who did more of the fill-in frames would flesh it out and do the between frames as well. I could be wrong about this but man, it would be cool to know who’s hands touched this paper. Maybe even one of the nine old men! It’s wicked cool that Walt Disney voiced Mickey in this film. Also, there’s gotta be some type of life lesson in this scene. Right when he’s down on his luck and defeated, an opportunity rises to prove his valiance even though he runs from it and tries to escape at every turn. His destiny had plans otherwise. Deep! On my down days I look to this Mickey.
