Just got the last bolts to cut and some minor fixes before i can call this outfit done! Sending this to @jovanvault who commissioned the top and mask to fit the belt and skirt from a previous build i made. The outfit is very modular and the shoulder can be removed, The vest can be worn open and closed, The belt is separate from the skirt and the pocket is removable. It can create many looks ut also easy to transport and Light as all armor pieces are aluminium. Axel, before a Jugger Match, a Wasteland contact sport best described as a mix between American football (but the ball is replaced with a dog skull) and the 90s TV show gladiators. Unlike the rest of his team he gets no padded weapon because he is the only team member allowed to run the skull to the opposing side to win points. Check my story for a clip of him doing just that. The match was delayed because the sandstorm was picking up so I managed to get portraits of the players, using the tents as cover. In October I camped in a tent in the Mojave desert for 5 days; shot portraits in sandstorms, wrapped my film in survival blankets to keep the heat off and changed rolls in portaloos to escape the dust. Gravel roads paved by hand carve through the desert, sheets of rusted metal welded together days previous make up the City Gates, crowds drift through the dust dressed in haphazard combinations of leather, weathered sportswear and pseudo-military uniforms. Now in its eighth year, it is a festival directly inspired by the Mad Max franchise, located on the edge of the Mojave Desert in Southern California. Far removed from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood Boulevard just 115 miles away, but equally illusionary, this is a place where costumes are mandatory, of warring tribes, Thunderdome battles and Mad Max vehicle parades. What started out as a few dozen fans of the films getting together in the desert is now 4,000 enthusiasts from around the world drawn to the promise of chaos and freedom.
