Day 25 is ‘how it’s made’ for #marchmeetthemaker. One of the amazing qualities of wool fleece during feltmaking is that the fibres will bond together wherever they meet. So you can use resists made of plastic or rubber (which will stop the fibres meeting) to mould the fleece around to create 3D forms. I use a variety of rubber balls in this way to create seamless bags. I work inside out, starting with the outer yarn design (as you can see here), then adding the wool fleece and soapy water before starting the felting process (lots of rubbing and bouncing!). ‘Product range’ is the theme of Day 8 of @joannehawker #marchmeetthemaker challenge. I have always made lots of different wet-felted products but have been trying to focus on bags over the last couple of years. I still haven’t really nailed a consistent product range (though it’s on my to do list) as I generally tend to make a piece of felt and then decide what would suit it best!
