Today’s show was good, but not good enough. As a perfectionist all I ever want is for every shot to be a bullseye, every line to be beautiful and every hold to be solid. It’s not always like that and sometimes it really effects me mentally when it’s not. But what I have to remind myself - and other performers - is that when things aren’t perfect, it’s actually a blessing because it shows the audience that we are human. Who wants to watch a perfect robot, when you can see a human attempt the impossible!? As my coach used to say ‘if it was that easy, then everyone would be doing it’ note to self: you’re only human. Tonight’s show was awesome. Our venue is half open - which means it doesn’t have a roof. It was a very windy evening, which of course proved difficult for all the acts, including mine. Instead of giving up, no one complained and each gave the most exciting performances of the run so far. The knife throwers, the sword swallowers, even the fire performers battling against the wind but still smashing their act’s. It was so impressive. Tonight I realised - people that love what they do never find excuses to give up, instead they see it as an opportunity to thrive. Such an amazing energy to be around tonight! #FuegoCarnal #Familia @dreamstateentertainment
