honestly, i’m exhausted. i’ve been trying to find an agent for my novel for about a year now.
+
i did take a very long break for about 6 months within that year but overall, no luck. it’s frustrating because every single agent that i’ve submitted to has said they enjoyed the submission but it wasn’t ‘right for them’ so i’m not hopeless but i do want to be honest about my writing journey on here. +
next week, i’m going to start writing my next book, while continuing with submissions with my first novel. i do have hope for this book! and some agents have expressed more interest (it’s just a long waiting game. have to practice patience while we wait for a response!) but it’s hard. honestly it’s really hard.

but @goscribbler is one of the few things that keeps me going. every month, we get writing goodies and motivation and inspiration. seeing all these authors (mostly female too!!) published successfully is super inspiring and keeps me on track. definitely check them out if you need a writing pick-me-up

city of bones (4/5 )

okay. finally. i read city of bones. and i reeeeeally REALLY liked it. a lot more than i thought i would! the plot was super intriguing, the world building was interesting & THE CHARACTERS! oh, the characters! i really enjoyed pretty much all of them. i love clary, jace & simon. luke. clary’s mum. ISABELLE. like ugh. so great! i’m super excited to read the next books! if the plot twists are anything like this one, i’m in for a treeeeeat!!

the only places this book fell short for me was in pace & info dumping. i did feel the book was quite long and had a lot of filler scenes but other than that, i was gripped the whole way through!
Hi friend,
Just popping in today to say: You're doing great.
☺️
You are rocking it.
Wherever you are.
Whatever you are doing.
Whether everything is going “perfect” today or if everything went sideways.
Whether you're living your dream or starting over again...
❤️
You're doing great.
Just as you are.
Right in this moment.
❤️❤️

As I was stitching this dragonfly, I remembered sitting on the swing in my garden 2 summers ago when I was visited by a dragonfly. In the still of silence hovered beauty of a smaller kind, the type you want to hold, to keep for all of time. It poised over my freshly planted hydrangea, refracting light off its wings and eventually settled on a blade of grass. Having flown the earth for 300 million years, dragonflies teach me that the secret to change is to focus all my energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.
