This piece has so many layers of significance, not just for the recipient but also for myself. This commission was requested by a former colleague of mine who lives in Sydney, Australia. We got to know each other and build a great friendship and working relationship by having weekly phone calls from across the globe. This was the first piece I ever designed in collaboration with another person--she asked me to create a piece for her son's 21st birthday where you could see him changing from a baby to a young boy to a young man. She asked that Thomas the Train, the Teletubbies, soccer, and his loves for skiing and traveling as a young man be included to showcase his different loves at different ages. At first, this threw me some creative curveballs, but it really pushed my creativity to a different level to make this all come together! As a bonus, I put their cat in the soccer net, as she really does love to play! (Oh, I also somehow managed to whip this one out in just a few days and ship it off to Australia!) #21stbirthday #birthdayart #birthdaygift #wildgingercopper #copperart #metalart
For this commission I was given a tender bedtime photo of a mother and son. When I asked what they loved, I was told music, fast cars, and monster trucks. I really wasn't sure for quite some time how to combine all of those things and still retain the sweetness of the portrait, but then one day I had the flash of genius of adding all of those things in the little details while making sure that the love between them was the most prominent thing.

In 2016, I got to play wedding photographer for my friend @mollysaurusrex! I wanted to give her a special gift to complete the package, so I designed a piece for her and her husband-to-be, Chuck, based on their wedding venue--The Battlefield B&B in historic Gettysburg! It was quite a weekend, full of love, fun, ghost tours, and haunted happenings around the venue! #weddinggift #Gettysburgart #weddingart #wildgingercopper #copperart #metalart
I based this piece off of a photo I took.at Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand, which is a sanctuary for abused elephants. It was one of the happiest days of my life to get to walk beside and help bathe these majestic creatures. I wound up selling this piece to a man who had an elephant tattoo on his forearm--turns out he had spent 2.5 year in Thailand, himself.
