Happy Friday, my friends!!! I went back to the US recently and left with mixed feelings. Here are some of the things that happened, both good and bad:
1) I ate a delicious coffee milk flavored donut (see above) from @pvdonuts in Providence Rhode Island.
2) I attended @travel_con in Boston and reunited with my creator friends from last year + I met more.
3) I (apparently) had a five minute conversation with @nomadicmatt at the first TravelCon after party , but I cannot remember it.
4) I had my tarot cards read and learned that a year from now I’ll be looking down at how successful I’ve become... also something about my love life, but that’s for me... hehe.
5) I realized that the US is more expensive than London , and especially if I had gotten hurt, as my travel insurance covers me in every country in the world except America.
6) I visited the Salem Witch Trial Memorials in Salem, Massachusetts ♀️and was reminded that humans aren’t immune to hysterical accusations just because it’s 2019.
7) I realized I couldn’t wait to leave the US in just a few days of visiting, and that I am deeply in love , head over heels with travel.
What have you learned recently during your travels? It could be an interesting fact, a reflection about home, or something new about yourself.
Simple summer food is kind of the best, especially when our garden has been gifting us the sweetest cherry tomatoes.
I've been slow roasting them or simply having them fresh like in this burrata salad with homemade pesto.
It's a long weekend around here and we are on our way to the beach to enjoy the sun and the glorious weather. I hope you are having a beautiful Sunday!
Dining in the Old Town of Colmar
-
Located on the Alsace Wine Route and a stone’s throw away from the border of Germany, Colmar is renowned for its preserved Old Town, adorned with its timber-framed wood houses that reflect an exceptional blend of Germanic and French architecture.⠀
⠀
Stepping off the platform at the main train station, Gare de Colmar, the accommodation I had booked was quite close to the Old Town. Google Maps is pretty much my best friend whilst travelling! Outside the Old Town, I saw that everything is quite modern with well known high street shops and chain hotels.
⠀
I feel like the Old Town is mainly for tourists but is the perfect destination for families to visit. The weather is great during the summer and the location felt very safe, even whilst exploring at night.⠀
⠀
If you are visiting Colmar be sure to dine at one of the restaurants in the Old Town to have the full experience! The atmosphere whilst dining there is pretty special ✨
Oh (shu)MAI, it’s only been one day, and I’m in love with Tel Aviv Our first dinner with @project_weloveat at @discotokyo_tlv was a winner for many reasons. They’ve curated a unique experience where you can have great Israeli-influenced Japanese cuisine adapted to the Tel Avivian palette, in a club-like vibe, while listening to some FIRE music...all of which will make you want to disco this properly set the tone for what I know will be an amazing experience.
