For the longest time I was such an emotional individual, it was great for passionate n drive, but the down side was that when things went south so did I. . If I was caught up in anger I’d hurt others in the process. If I’d get caught up in sadness I’d fall into victimhood. It was an emotional rollercoaster that eventually took a toll on my body as I tried to release my feelings of worry, stress, and anxiety at the gym - I pushed my body too hard for too long. . Instead of feeling my feelings I’d suppress them w/endorphins n ego from working out. Thinking that the positive energy or taking it out at the gym would balance me out some way -it didn’t - all it did was lead me into hurting my back n slowly destroying my spirit n shutting down my intuition when it told me I’ve had enough. . Which is why when I felt lost and fell into a depression after my injury. I was faced with all the suppressed feelings that eventually resurfaced when I had no way of ignoring them. . The biggest thing that I learned was that 1. we don’t know how powerful we are. 2. we must learn to harness our energy n power in the right way to serve us, to serve others 3. feelings are not facts n are usually brought on by the ego to make us believe we are powerless instead of powerful. . #AwkwardGoddess is a new project I’m working on to not only document my transformational journey from what healings tools I’ve used, to how to get in touch with my desires and my feminine energy, but also to share the amazing and magical women that help transform my life along the way. . Having to learn new ways of being, new perspectives, growing our confidence n owning our power seems disingenuous to our old selves, but, I’m here to help prove that it can be done one AWKARD step at a time.
