When your friends don’t show up for the morning walk.

Today Timber went with a new dog walker @whistlerdogwalkers and did fantastic! he had met her before on trail and taken a few cookies from him but today she had him on her own! He was a bit hesitant about leaving and going down the hallway but I walked with them and he hoped right in the van! . She kept him on leash for the day and he jumped back in the van for the car ride home! He also made it all the way up the stairs and to the door seamlessly! . To say I am impressed is an understatement. Timber takes a long time to warm up to people but he has been improving a lot lately. The reason I used a dog walker in the beginning is because I wanted him to be socialized with all different types of dogs and people. . Car rides on their own were a nightmare, new people not happening, someone holding his leash never. Everything just takes time and practice! Give your dog patience and the space to learn and adapt! As Timber matures he is slowly getting more comfortable in different situations. .
