Hello IG family J’espère que vous allez bien Aujourd’hui je suis en peu triste car ma maman et mes soeurs sont partis en Turquie je vais les rejoindre dans 7 jours mais......... Coping with everything parenthood throws at you alone isn’t a measure of your worth, or skill. Asking for help isn’t an indicator that you’re not good enough. Parenting today, IMO, is the hardest it’s ever been. Sure, we have modern gadgets at our disposal so the physical toil is somewhat easier. Emotionally though it’s a whole other story. We are bombarded with messages that somehow we’re not good enough; we’re told we should do more, buy more, be more...we’re told we’re not doing it right, but we’re so very rarely told what a good job we’re doing. The conflicting advice, the judgement and questioning undermines our instincts and our belief in ourselves. The MSM, the internet and social media play a huge role in this and I genuinely believe things were (in some ways at least) a lot easier for parents before they existed. We are the first generation living under such intense scrutiny and with so much comparison. That can only make parenting harder! . It’s OK to get off the merry-go-round of comparison and it’s more than OK to ask for help (in the UK). I’ve tagged some great organisations who offer help and support to parents. Please do mention more in the comments. Never be afraid to ask for help, it just shows how strong you are! . Tuesday throwback to a more carefree time, before the whirlwind of pregnancy began Learning today that our little girl has turned breech has made a c-section even more likely now as she is less likely to flip again due to her size One minute I’m all calm, “surrendering” to whatever outcome, the next I’m frantically googling what yoga positions I can get into to encourage her to flip I’m so indecisive/all over the place right now but I do know that holding this precious babe in a few weeks is going to make it all so worth it
