Bergman Offensive: As World War 1 was beginning to set its tone in Europe, the Ottoman Empire now modern day turkey is starting to mobilize there troops against the Russian Empire. This would force a move by the Russian I Caucasian Army Crops to take control of Eleskirt. Commander of the Russian I Caucasian Army, Gregory Bergmann, had a strong belief that the Ottoman Empire wouldn’t be able to withstand a massive offensive, especially in the winter. Gregory Bergmann wanted to take initiative against the on going Ottoman Empire. He wanted to wound the Ottoman Empire as quick as possible before the harsh winter came. Bergmann planned a strategic offensive aimed to take control/secure Eleskirt Valley. The Russians have already had some parts of the Valley but not all of it. Bergmanns plan would launch on November 2nd marching into Koprukoy. It wouldn’t be long before the Caucasian army would make it’s way through Enver Pashas army, by the Aras River. Bergmann was not dome though has he wanted to march more into Ottoman territory. Again he wanted to completely wound the Ottoman Empire before the winter arrived. Bergmanns troops were able to keep pushing forward, until the Ottoman Empire made a massive counter attack on November 11th. This counter attack completely stopped the Russian flank. Bergmanns Offensive would eventually come to a close and Enver Pasha of the Ottoman Empire had his moral boosted, which led to even more fighting on the Caucasian front.
