We have the sun in #york today. I really hope it stays out for the weekend. has a double birthday party tomorrow and then I could be very tempted with a #ginandtonic. The week started off being really productive - hopefully tomorrow will be more so than today!! I tend to work better in the evenings but have been out this week every evening. It’s @bloomyorkfestival this weekend which is really worth a visit if your local #flowers #onlyinyork #yorkblogger #minster #yorkstreets #yorkcitycentre #flowergram #flowersmakemehappy #flowersofinstagram #flowersoftheday #flowerlovers #flowerphotography #flowermagic #blooooms #positivemind #positivevibes #positivemindset #onlygoodvibes #goodthoughts #thinkhappythoughts #staypositive #selftalk
It's like a tradition, everytime we come to York, we have to get a pic with this funky sounding street.

Perfect start to the day @bottega_york ☕️ with @miss_suzanneg // I’m always looking for epic coffee shops that live up to their ig profiles, this one did not disappoint. Super warm welcome from all of the staff plus amazing cake options which they were happy to talk us through all of them, they had at least 5 flavours of brownie we chose the brownie topped with caramel shortcake and the battenberg

Hungry // It doesn’t matter which branch or what you order you know your going to enjoy your meal at The Ivy chain, my second visit to York one yesterday, where the lovely lady who served us told us how much she loves working there // I ordered the chicken summer salad which was a daily special but I have had it before when it was on the menu in Leeds, it was delicious plate full of pomegranate, grapes, apple, mint, mixed leaves and flavoured chicken with a side of courgette fries. It was @miss_suzanneg first visit so it was hard to choose... but she was super happy with the HLT (halloumi) with a side of truffle chips we then shared the classic chocolate bomb which is vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and popping candy @theivyyork #theivyyork

• York, St. Andrew's •
Away from Kings Square down St. Andrewsgate are the remains of a small medieval church dedicated to St. Andrew. It sits a stones throw away from the Merchant Taylor's Hall and not too far from Holy Trinity Goodramgate. You might think the church doesn't look particularly interesting, and to be honest it isn't hugely attractive, but it is quite amazing that any fraction of the old church survives at all. The thing about St. Andrew's is that it never was as grand or as particularly interesting as many of the other city centre churches. Its parish was always a poor one and its church therefore quite small. The earliest reference to St. Andrews was made in 1194 when it belonged to the Dean and Chapter of York. Serving a poor parish, the church was declared redundant and closed in 1549. It is surprising that the church survived from this date to the present day. It may have been associated in some way with the parish of St. Saviour before it was merged with that parish in 1585. Credit for the buildings survival may be owed to its rather bizarre, post-medieval occupation as a brothel, a stable, a house and a school house serving St. Peter's School from c.1736 to 1833. The church is once again today used a place of worship.
