MOVIE REVIEW:
Godzilla: King of the Monsters [2019]
Director: Michael Dougherty
Stars: Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Ken Watanabe, O’Shea Jackson Jr, Bradley Whitford, Ziyi Zhang, Thomas Middleditch with Sally Hawkins and Charles Dance
Review: After a long five years we finally have a sequel to Godzilla that both delivers what we’ve always wanted yet disappoint in important areas. Starting negatively, King Of The Monsters stumbles pretty bad when it comes to its human characters and dialogue. The human storyline’s have never been that engaging in these types of movies and while here the concept was strong, the execution wasn’t. But that’s not what I took away from this movie. The monster action is unlike anything we’ve seen before. King Ghidorah brings a terrifying presence every time he’s on screen, with director Michael Dougherty delivering big time on the spectacle. Like seriously, the scale of this sequel is insane! The special effects are also incredible. As for the actors; Kyle Chandler and Vera Farmiga are fine, but they’re brought down by cringe and forced dialogue. Millie Bobby Brown surprisingly doesn’t have much to do here. Ken Watanabe continues to perfectly deliver over-the-top lines. Bradley Whitford have a very cartoonish performance. And the rest of the cast was fine. The movie is well paced, definitely helped by the endless action sequences. It’s just a whole lot of fun. I hate to compare it Transformers, but yeah, it’s like Transformers, but better. I still believe 2014’s Godzilla is a better film, but sometimes I enjoy shoving popcorn in my face more. Overall, Godzilla: King of the Monsters gives us the crazy action we’ve been taking for, but forgets to maintain a consistent tone in its dialogue and fails to make us really care about its characters.

one more photo from studio. I really like this “女侠” outfit, reminds me the romantic, heroical, gallant, brave, independent female figures from Chinese Kung Fu novels. #MichelleYeoh and #ZiyiZhang in the #movie #CrouchingTigerHiddenDragon perfectly incarnated the Chinese literatures “女侠”. #女侠 #古装 #中国文化 #武侠小说 #msyeah #办公室小野 #小野
