Arguably one of the cutest animals on the plant, the tarsier is the worlds smallest primate!  It only grows to a maximum of 16 cm in height and is considered extremely endangered.  It is indigenous to only 3 southeast asian countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.  This little critter can turn its head nearly 360 degrees but can't more its enchanting eyeballs even 1 mm. Sad news, as much as I know you want to hold, and hug these tiny little love balls, you should not try and touch them.  They have developed highly sensitive survival defense which streams a constant flow of adrenaline and norepinephrine to their brains.  In basic terms they are very nervous and constantly in a state of fight or flight...without much fight.  It's rumored that they are so nervous that even the startling sound of a snapping tree branch can give them a massive pulmonary embolism, so please, if you visit them, respect their privacy, act in a calm manner, don't speak loudly and just enjoy sharing a wonderful moment with them. We were able to capture the Tarsier at the Bohol Tarsier Sanctuary, where they live in a natural habitat with plenty of room to move around, find safety, interact with other tarsiers, and feel a sense of security.  This is not the case at the Tarsier Conservatory on Bohol.  Treatment of the animals is considered poor at best by a number of experts and we don't recommend a visit. This little guy is named Charlie.  His name comes from the fact that he is considered the most sociable and entertaining of the 9 Tarsiers at the sanctuary but doesn't make a peep i.e. Charlie Chaplin.  We certainly spent the most time with him on our walk through the jungle and have built a deep and empathetic connection with the beautiful creations of nature.  Fun Fact:  Every morning at the Sanctuary, workers must hunt for the 9 Tarsiers so they can help animal lovers see them.  They said they had to close on several occasions because they couldn't find a single one.  I guess we were luck to have been there on a day where they found 7!  And 6 of them were awake during the day!
