I love being able to share a business with James, but the odds are against us... small business failure and divorce are the norm. We have decided that we refuse to be the norm, but it’s really hard. We are approaching our 10 year anniversary in October and I’d like to think we have gotten much better over the decade, but truth is, we are learning more, now than ever how to love each other better. We tried a thing. On the site I have “tapestry pairs” listed but you can choose “quantity 1” or “quantity 2”. I liked the idea of giving you the option to choose one or two. But also wanted to photograph them as the pair. One has been purchased and so there is one left. This seems confusing, so Ill photograph the new single piece to prevent any issues and list it as a single piece. This is what I love about owning and running a small biz- you can always test things out and try to improve and when it doesn’t work, you try again and learn! Nothing is permanent and (mostly) everything can be fixed! No mistakes, just lessons. Do you ever wonder how Influencers capture their content and have model-like photos of themselves as they run to grab a quick coffee at 7am? I do too. I seriously don’t understand how they go out for a “quick bite” and end up with cover-girl worthy snaps of themselves by the end of dinner. Are their husbands fashion photographers? Do they only have friends who know how to style hair and touch up makeup before they pull out a camera? Also, where do they find empty streets or alleys that look so chic to casually walk for these stunning photo shoots? I’m not jealous, just totally intrigued. Just so you know, this photo happened while I had my camera mounted on a tripod during a shoot at @thelumenroom (I found my tripod on @Amazon) and used the self timer. We were there to shoot a couple of my large scale pieces, and tried to get a quick shot of me too (watch my previous post of the behind the scenes shoot!). I pressed the 10 second self timer button and ran to sit on the couch to look natural and “gazed off in the distance” and got lucky that I don’t look weird. Nothing fancy. I also asked @jwill.i.ams to take a few snaps of me with his phone but alas, I looked weird. Anyways, just making sure you know I’m as confused as you are about the steady flow of gorgeous content and photos by the talented lifestyle/fashion influencers that we all love to follow.
