- Moderation is simple… in theory. ⠀ DOING IT is a whole different thing. ⠀ For me, one of the bigger challenges I've faced was overcoming my “all-or-nothing” mentality with food. ⠀ If I was eating pizza, I'd slam the whole pie. If I was eating ice cream, I was poundin’ the pint. If I wanted Oreos, I'd tackle a full sleeve. ⠀ I could sit here and say that I’ve learned to have complete control of my cravings — that I’m a “perfect little healthy eater” who never goes off plan. ⠀ But I’d be lying out my booty-bum. ⠀ I still struggled with moderation. ⠀ Sometimes, all I want to do is eat my weight in Reese Cups or swan dive into a swimming pool of Ben & Jerry’s Americone Dream… ⠀ What’s different now is that I’ve stopped hiding from my cravings. Now I face them head-on. ⠀ You see, we all have things we struggle with, and until we address them head-on, we’ll continue struggling. Everyone’s a bit different, but here are some strategies that have helped me gain control: ⠀ 1️⃣ Keep Overly-Tempting Foods OUT of the House ⠀ For me, it’s keeping multiple pints of ice cream OUT of the freezer. Sometimes, I’m able to mindfully dish out 1-2 servings, but I often find myself going back into the kitchen to finish the rest … ⠀ Instead, I’ll buy foods that I have more control over that still satisfy my cravings. Right meow, I’m really digging dark chocolate and gummy worms… you know, cuz I’m 12 years old ⠀ 2️⃣ Make Overly-Tempting Foods “Go & Get” Treats ⠀ If I want ice cream, I can still have it… ⠀ BUT(t) —> I have to physically leave the house to “go & get” it. ⠀ Recently, I’ve been going to for a single scoop waffle cone (see pic) ⠀ 3️⃣ What's Done Most of the Time Matters Most ⠀ As much as I say this, it’s still so, so easy to forget... ⠀ I have to remind myself on the reg that just because I overindulge once, it’s not that big of a deal. In the same way, though, one healthy meal doesn’t mean I’m clear to eat junk food the rest of the day... ⠀ As long as I’m staying active, staying mindful, and staying focused on eating whole foods MOST of the time, I know the occasional treat (even unplanned overindulgence) ain’t no thang Thank You By @cartergood

Stick to it, it will pay off! . -45 pounds. 1 year later. I figured since I get asked a lot about my fitness/ Life Journey I should actually post a before and after photo. The photo on the Left was after I moved to Miami and was Introduced to Miami Lifestyle (late night drinking ) and LATIN food. My dad is a chef so you know I had to TRY everything!! I slowly started gaining weight over the span of 2 years. I was MADLY in Love,working A lot, and Eating irregularly. ⚡️•Lets go back to the Start• (I've had set backs, like everyone) I was finally diagnosed in 2010 after YEARS of stomach pains and miss diagnoses. I was allergic to Gluten, Dairy, Eggs, and Soy. At the time I was about to Start College Softball and I was Always in Pain. After going to a Holistic Doctor that told me change my Diet to more Raw, Healthy foods. After years of YO-Yoing with my weight and my emotions I got sick of it, literally. I think my body started to reject more foods, and ALCOHOL, so I wanted to see how my body would feel closer to Mother Nature. I started juicing (Not as a meal replacement, but to get more vitamins) ALOt of fruits and Veggies, Snacks and Fish. I get hungry if I don't eat, but after a while you're metabolism speeds up and you just Need food. I WAS Never like that. Haha •Hiking, and at home workouts are my jam! I hate people starring at me at the gym, Pump some Iron and stare at yourself in the mirror. •So after years of weight struggle in middle school and highschool I have seriously accepted that You have to do what is right for YOUR MIND, BODY, and and SOUL! If people are telling you you are to Fat, skinny, Short, Tall = Fuck them! They are NOT in your head at the end of the day.....You are, you have to be ok with yourself and your thoughts when you attempt to sleep at night!!! I'm learning that, and I'm trying to grow too!! •If you knew how powerful your Negative thoughts were, you would Try to never think like that again. Thanks for letting me be honest and vulnerable, I want girls, people to be honest and ok with themselves. . @rachelringwood - Thanks you for amazing motivation .

What am i SNACKING on this week⠀⠀ When looking for a snack that satisfies my sweet-tooth, i like to pick some FILLING and SATISFYING options!‍♀️ Here are some of the snacks that i have been having this week! ⠀⠀⠀ ⭐️1. Mango dusted in coconut: i cube 1 medium mango, and sprinkle 1 tbsp toasted desiccated coconut on-top! This comes in at around 151 calories, and is extremely satisfying⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⭐️2. Vanilla milk: I enjoy this one both hot and cold! I make it using 250ml almond milk(you can use normal milk but im slightly lactose intolerant), 2 tsp honey dissolved in 2 tbsp boiling water, 1/2 tsp vanilla powder. Best served warm or with ice cubes for a hot day! Coming in at roughly 82 calories ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⭐️3. Strawberries with a chocolate dipping sauce! I LOVE this snack especially when im looking for VOLUME!I have 200g strawberries, and make a chocolate dipping sauce with 1 tbsp raw cocoa, 1 tsp coconut oil OR nut butter of choice, 1 tbsp pure maple syrup and 1-2 tsp hot water if im looking for a drippy texture! So delicious and coming in at only 175 calories ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⭐️4. Yogurt covered blueberries: I like to dip blueberries (100g) into yoghurt(100g)( i sweeten mine with stevia and vanilla) and then freeze them in the freezer. So incredibly satisfying at 82 calories! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⭐️5. Litchis: These are one of my favourite treats! i find them so sweet and tasty and one cup comes to roughly 125 calories. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⭐️6. Chocolate banana boat: So i don’t really enjoy banana (as you all know) but this is one of my boyfriends favourite snacks! I slice a banana lengthwise and top 1/2 of it off with 2 tsps nut butter!
