Day 800: another milestone reached! Thank you to the staff at Fleet Farm in Oconomowoc for joining me at the end of my @1037KISSFM event and @zoellaenchanted for filming!
•
This is about more than just pushups - the 22 Pushup Challenge originated as a way to spread awareness that an average of 22 combat veterans take their own lives each day.
•
A recent statistic has shown that the number has decreased slightly to about 20 a day, but that is still too many!
•
If you need resources, you can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Or text HELLO to 741-741 for the Crisis Text Line.
•
If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, reach out and ask for help. It could save a life!
•
If you’d like to participate in the 22 Pushup Challenge, I encourage you to do so! Just record a video and post it on social media (Instagram, Facebook... wherever).
•
It doesn’t have to be “pretty” because it’s “not about the pushups” it’s about the awareness! Please tag me so I can support you with likes and comments (and a virtual pat on the back).
Missing my pushups. And a few other things... .
.
#tbt to last Sept. I’m slowly starting to do pushups again. Can only do about 15 at the moment but I’ll keep working. When I get to 22 again I don’t care where I am you’re getting a video!! Day 13
**Please watch the quick video in my bio!**
It shows what it can be like living with PTSD and how helpless the victims are.
I think the most important thing I took from the vid was that it's ok to feel that way, to feel trapped and helpless, and it's ok to get help. It's vital to get help.
Like I said in my previous post, I'm not posting everyday(Still doing the 22 push ups daily though) because I feel it looses it's value and becomes more of a hindrance rather than actually raising awareness. For those of you who made it this far, thank you. I really appreciate you taking the time to read this!
Nonetheless, I was rocking some knuckle push ups because my wrists are hurting from doing all these push ups haha.
I was nominated by @matt_morton_ocr to do 22 push-ups for 22 days to help raise awareness for veterans suffering from PTSD. Today I nominate @sadikcanca9
Whether you are a veteran or not, please call the number below if you are in need of help or know someone who may need help.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline:
1-800-273-8255
The Rules:
1) Once you are nominated you are challenged to start the next day
2) Record yourself doing the 22 push ups and post them everyday for 22 days
3) You should nominate someone new everyday
4) Have fun, be creative, and don’t forget the message.
Today only- everyone needs to do
22 push-ups! No one cares how you do #22pushups.
Post the 1-800-272-8255 hotline!
Those of you fighting-keep fighting!
Those who are lost. Please call
1-800-272-8255
We love you and want you here with us!
Day 826: working on that whole “breathe while you push-up” thing and it’s working? ...at least until I forget and go back to my bad habits.

Day 787: after this week, I’ll admit it... I’m legit exhausted! Canceled my Friday night, the wave of fatigue hit me HARD. Also, decline pushups are my fave - I often find them easier than regular.

This is one of my days for the 22 push up for PTSD challenge nomination that I have been posting on my Facebook account. This challenge brings awareness to veterans who suffer from PTSD, 22 of which commit suicide daily.
The rules are simple, 22 push ups a day for 22 days straight. Post a video of you doing the challenge. #22pushups #ptsdawareness #uwo
