Let’s escape and breathe the air of new places

Driving through Iceland for the past 4 days and it’s been one of the most absurd experiences... . Back to back 3am wake up calls to catch sunrise, 1pm bedtimes, bloody ankles that can’t heal from wearing the wrong boots on hikes, a serious lack of food and water. I fell asleep sitting up straight yesterday which has never happened before in my life. Last night in the Highlands, we drove through the dark to make it to the next destination due to our tight schedule. The fog and rain were impossible to see through and we all wound up driving into the middle of a lake. The other group’s 4x4 got stuck and began sinking deeper and deeper into the mud. . We tried digging the car out but to no avail. Because of the lack of sleep, food, and with no idea what to do, stress levels were high. The rain kept pouring and we were soaked... eventually everyone began to relax a bit, the girls began to make food for the crew, and around 2:30am we were finally able to get a call for help. Because of the messed up plans, we actually got a chance to catch up on sleep. . Even though this isn’t at all what we had planned for, things ended up working out. The towing company got the car out of the river, and we are currently heading to the nearest town to recoup. I think the moral of the story is that it’s really easy to get caught up in “getting the banger” but sometimes, safety and practicality are a lot more important and sustainable. . But throughout all of the craziness, I’ve never experienced such otherworldly landscapes in my life. We’ve shared so many laughs together, danced, drank wine in a hot spring, I think I even cried at some point and we’ve truly been having an absolute blast. LO MÁS VALIOSO QUE POSEES ES TU TIEMPO y tú decides en QUÉ y en QUIÉN lo inviertes. No olvides!! Que lo material alimenta el ego y empobrece el alma. Que dentro de nosotros tenemos todas las RESPUESTAS ; pero normalmente no tenemos el CORAJE de contestarnos con SINCERIDAD . Que si no miras hacia atrás no aprendes pero si no miras hacia delante tampoco avanzas. Que la FELICIDAD cada uno la encontramos en cosas diferentes y cada una de ellas es tan respetable como la tuya. Que quien odia y lastima a los demás tiene una herida abierta y aún no ha aprendido a PERDONAR . Que cada cosa, momento o persona.. tiene la importancia que le queramos dar. Que tu luz puede alumbrar a la gente de tu alrededor pero tu sombra también puede oscurecerles. Que los niños ven la verdad porque ven el mundo de forma llana y simple. Que puedes no hacer lo que hace la mayoría y no estar loco. Que quien vive una vida sin amor está muerto y quien ama sin control puede perder la cordura. Que creemos en las CASUALIDADES siempre y cuando el final de ellas sea feliz. Que un corazón roto llora pero se recupera y un alma sin rumbo puede no recuperarse nunca. Que los defectos que más te llaman la atención en los demás son los más agudizados en ti mismo. Que a veces lo mejor que te puede pasar es estamparte contra la pared bien fuerte para al menos reaccionar. Que hay que caerse para aprender y hay que sufrir para apreciar la felicidad. Que de la tristeza se puede aprender más que de la alegría. Que la suma de nuestras decisiones nos ha llevado al preciso instante donde estamos ahora. Que mañana podemos no estar aquí y nuestra vida no nos la va a devolver nadie así que disfrutala cada segundo.
