Allow me the indulgence of posting one more pic from yesterday’s class. I used to walk into a roomful of women and immediately shut down. I’d do an instant scan of each woman in the room and compare myself to her, ranking us all in relation to each other. Who was prettiest, thinnest, most popular, most talented. Most of us do this, right? Inevitably, I’d put myself at the very bottom of the list. It was a crippling, uncontrollable habit. But I’ve been working on this bad habit for years. Now, when I walk into a room filled with women, that same moment of panic still seizes my heart. But I deal with it by sizing everyone up in a different way: who seems to be the kindest? Whose talent can I look up to? Who has stunning style and can give me tips? It sounds corny, but entering a room of women can be terrifying and I’ve found it life-changing to enter that room with love. Yesterday’s class was the biggest I’d been in and I had that same momentary panic. But every woman - every single one - showed herself to be kind and funny and supportive. I’m proud of this picture and all of the women in it. Thank you @maryannsaerials for creating that safe and fun environment! (I also think it’s hilarious that I’m so pale that I blew out the white-balance of the shot and am thus glowing ) What about you?
