These past 8 years have been an amazing time in our lives. We've been able to build a house, have a child, all while becoming a part of the community in a way that makes Aiken truly feel like home. But as the proverb goes, "There is an end to everything, to good things as well". So, just as fast as we came in, we want to leave just the same. Threads final day of business will be Saturday 12/29/18. We want to end our time in downtown during our favorite time of year. We want to help your holiday season be bright and hope you enjoy our discounts along the way. Our entire shop will be 20% off. Prior to handplaning all of my table parts, I did a little blade maintenance and sharpened it to a razors edge. Watch until the end to see just how sharp I keep my blades.

I picked up a card scraper set from my buddy @dfmtoolworks the other day and couldn't wait to test them out. About 5 minutes of work and now I have a perfectly tuned card scraper. Watch till the end to see the results of sharpening correctly!

It puts the glue on the tenon or else it gets the clamps and mallet again I spent enough time fine tuning the joint so that I wouldn't get in a spicy situation during the glue up. As you can see, everything came together smashingly

This getting dark at 5 p.m. business makes me long for my mad dashes through the city over the summer, racing from one golf course to the next until 7 or 8 trying to photograph our area's best golf holes. I think the mad dash - and my aversion to early mornings - is evident in the varying light levels in each of these shots, some of which came desperately close to deadline.
