Los controladores de tráfico aéreo ubicados en la cabina de la torre de control están sujetos a factores físicos y psicológicos adversos, los cuales pueden reducir los niveles de rendimiento. Uno de estos factores es el problema de visión causado por el deslumbramiento y la reflexión. Esto puede ser originado por cualquier fuente de luz dentro de la torre y que se refleja sobre el cristal, las luces del aeropuerto o por las aeronaves. Investigaciones realizadas por la FAA y otros organismos en diferentes aeropuertos dieron como solución frente a estos factores de deslumbramiento y la reflexión; diseñar cabinas de 8 lados (octágono) e inclinar los paneles de cristal (ventanas) 15 grados en la parte superior del panel. Toda luz que se refleje sobre estos paneles ya sea una fuente de luz interna o externa a la torre será dirigida hacia el techo de la cabina. Este estudio y otros factores están enmarcado dentro del material (STUDY OF REDUCTION OF GLARE, REFLECTION, HEAT AND NOISE TRANSFER IN AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWERS CAB GLASS). ◼️➖➖➖➖ENGLISH➖➖➖➖◼️ Air traffic controllers located in the cab of the control tower are subject to adverse physical and psychological factors, which can reduce performance levels. One of these factors is the impaired vision caused by glare and reflection. This can be originated by any light source inside the tower and that is reflected on the glass, lights of the airport or by the airplanes. Research conducted by the FAA and other agencies in different airports gave as a solution to these factors of glare and reflection; design 8-sided cabins (octagon) and tilt glass panels (windows) 15 degrees at the top of the panel. Any light that is reflected on these panels, either an internal or external light source, will be directed towards the roof of the cabin. Dear Air Traffic Controllers out there: Thank you for keeping the Skies safe! All aviators from Switzerland will remember the 4th of July as a big step backward after an Air Traffic Controller was convicted by the federal court. I am deeply concerned about the negative impact of this judicial decision on aviation safety in and over Switzerland and how „just culture“ is treated. Switzerland remains one of the few States that has chosen to deviate from international standards and recommendations when it comes to using safety reports to trigger court cases. This creates a climate of fear amongst aviation professionals and result in a reluctance to submit reports. The opportunity to learn from these events is therefore severely compromised. I strongly support the demand for an urgent review of today's law. This is needed to incorporate the principles of "Just Culture" into our legal system. I am convinced that it will provide for a balanced approach between safety and the administration of justice. But today, my heartfelt support goes out to all (but especially the Swiss) Air Traffic Controllers out there - thank you for keeping our Skies safe! Keep in mind: Aviation is the safest mode of transport, and accidents are extremely rare. Thanks to the continuous effort to learn from incidents where the stringent aviation standards may not have been met. Our safety culture is based on a so-called „Just Culture“: Where aviation professionals, including crews and air traffic controllers, are encouraged to report issues relevant to safety without undue fear of punishment. This helps to find systemic flaws and making aviation safer. Despite drastic increases in traffic, safety levels have continued to improve to the level the flying public enjoys today.
