@ancientarcheology ⠀ The Colossus of Rhodes was a statue of the Greek sun-god Helios, erected in the city of Rhodes, on the Greek island of the same name, by Chares of Lindos in 280 BC. One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, it was constructed to celebrate Rhodes' victory over the ruler of Cyprus, Antigonus I Monophthalmus, whose son unsuccessfully besieged Rhodes in 305 BC. Tutankhamen, an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty was the son-in-law of Akhenaten. He ascended to the throne at the young age of 9 and died at 18. He first followed the religious cult of his wife and father-in-law, but later returned to worship the Priests of Amen, hence the last element of his name. His famously ornate burial was discovered in 1922. Restorers' Comment: Body was completely resurfaced; many missing beads were replaced.⠀ 〽️〽️〽️〽️⠀ Mısırda ilk kez tektanrılı Aten dinini kuran, IV. The garden is 5.5 hectares with a rectangular shape and a wall around it. It consists of an entrance structure and gate at the lower end and a two-floor residential structure at the upper end. The distance between these two is ornamented with water fountains that are engined by the natural incline of the land. The son of the popular Roman general Germanicus and Augustus' granddaughter Agrippina the Elder, Caligula was born into the first ruling family of the Roman Empire, conventionally known as the Julio-Claudian dynasty. Hierothesion on Mount Nemrut, UNESCO world heritage site, Adıyaman in Turkey.⠀ ⠀ It was built during the reign of King I Antiochos (69-32 BC) during the most brilliant period of the Commagene Kingdom (109 BC-72 AD). It consists al tumulus in the center and three terraces surrounding it in east, west and north directions. On the eastern and western terraces, there are statues of lion and eagle as well as Antiochos and god-goddess sculptures. A unique lion horoscope is located on the western terrace. The sculptures were carved by blending the Hellenistic and Persian art and the unique style of the country of Commagene.⠀ ⠀ 〽️〽️〽️〽️〽️⠀ Nemrut Dağı Hierothesion'u, UNESCO Dünya Mirası alanı, Adıyaman - Türkiye.⠀ ⠀ Nemrut Dağı’ndaki Hierothesion, Kommagene Krallığı’nın (MÖ 109-MS 72) en parlak döneminde hükümdar olan Kral I. Antiochos (MÖ 69–32) döneminde inşa edilmiş. Merkezde bir tümülüs ve onu doğu, batı ve kuzey yönlerde çevreleyen üç teras bulunuyor. Doğu ve batı teraslarında Antiochos ile tanrı-tanrıça heykellerinin yanı sıra aslan ve kartal heykelleri konumlanmış. Batı terasında eşsiz bir aslanlı horoskop yer alıyor.
