Aber wer meine Story gesehen hat, weiß, dass es anders war. Gestern war nicht mein Tag. Ich hab mich vom Gefühl her schon nicht wohlgefühlt und dann etwas gemacht, was mich überfordert hat. Der Klettersteig an der Staumauer ist technisch nicht schwer. Aber konstant nach unten zu blicken und zwischendurch den Kopf nicht auch mal wieder entspannen zu können, ist mir super schwergefallen. Ich war einfach nur froh, als ich oben war und hab wieder ein bisschen mehr über mich gelernt. Und wie ihr jetzt auch gesehen habt, grinse ich manchmal eben auch nicht in die Kamera. Nicht immer läuft alles wie geplant. Und das ist okay. Lasst euch nicht täuschen, nur weil auf Instagram alles nur rosarot ist. Jeder hat hin und wieder einfach einen schlechten Tag. ‍♀️☺️☝️ — Mir geht’s heute wieder viel besser. First visit to this national park ☺️. Touristy spots and parks in general tend to give me a bit of anxiety because of the large crowds so I was a little iffy adding this one to the list. Arizona has been home my whole life and I still haven’t visited the Grand Canyon for that very reason yet. You can never tell by looking at someone the whole story of who they are or what they’ve been through. You can’t tell by the social media posts... or even by the polite way they say hi to you at the grocery store... the shiniest smile might be covering up the deepest sorrow and that “rude thing they did to you” might have had nothing to do with you at all... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Why does this matter? It matters because we are living in a time where being right is valued higher than being kind. It matters because people sit behind keyboards and say words they’d never say in person. It matters because teenage suicide is on the rise and cyber bullying is at an all time high. It matters because every single individual human being matters. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What if that person who was “rude to you” just found out their dad died and was trying not to cry in public. What if that person who you commented an unnecessarily harsh comment on silently suffers with an eating disorder. What if that friend who smiles and says “everything is ok” is very much not ok but is scared to say the truth for fear they might be judged... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In my opinion the only way to combat a whole lot of hurt is by showing up with a whole lot of heart. I can’t take away your struggle.. or mine.. but I can make the choice to honor you fully. I can make the choice to choose kindness and compassion. How the mountains make me feel

When I saw my personal trainer yesterday, she wanted to check on my ankle and all things attached to it before just diving into training. Good thing she did. You know how you have all those hundreds of little bones in your feet? And you know how it makes your foot super malleable and able to walk around on uneven surfaces? Yea well...mine wasn’t moving like that. She spent the better part of 20 minutes massaging the rock hard muscles in my feet. And let’s just say, fuck was used quite liberally. ••• I knew that I wasn’t back to 100% when they discharged me from physical therapy. And it’s so damn depressing that they are willing to release a patient because they are able to just walk, yet not able to go back to their normal life. And I knew even more I wasn’t 100% yet from how hard hiking and shooting has been lately on all the rocky terrain and the way my right leg is overcompensating. ••• My session yesterday was another reminder of just how much I have actually gone through with this injury. It changed my life and made it so much harder to lead the active lifestyle I always have. But that’s why I’m training with @_thebranch_ at @thefitnessbranch. And that’s why I added whole food concentrates and healthy nutrition to my everyday life. Even though it’s taking me so long to get back to normal, I refuse to accept anything less than where I was before I broke my ankle.
