One of the things that I find frustrating is when I can’t break the seal on my shaker tin… and then I start hitting the tin at every angle possible trying to open it and when it opens the drink spills out of the shaker like a geyser this is the point when I start to cry over the spilt cocktail. . I received a shaker from @borohorobarware which is fantastic.  This shaker has good weight and balance, the top fits securely so your drink stays in the tin and it is easy to break the seal. I had some juniper orange syrup that was begging to be mixed with gin!  I wanted to keep it simple as the syrup packs a punch of flavor. The combination worked out well as the syrup enhanced the juniper in the gin and added a subtle citrus note. . I prepared this cocktail using the French cocktail shaker, Japanese jigger and the Hawthorne strainer from The Elan Collective @theelancollective . Good bar tools are key in making a great cocktail.  The Elan Collective bar tools are beautifully designed and well crafted.  I particularly love their Hawthorne strainer which has 99 coils so that every drink is well strained.  It is great when you find a company that pours their passion into their products and go the extra mile to ensure everything they sell is of the highest quality. . When I opened the bottle of Tanqueray Rangpur gin the aroma of limes, juniper and orange wafted out of the bottle like a genie granting luscious gin wishes. ‍♀️I decided to prepare a classic Collins to let the citrusy and herbal notes shine through. Delicious and refreshing…all my gin wishes were granted for sure. . Rangpur Collins . 2 oz. Tanqueray Rangpur Gin @tanqueraygin 3/4 oz. Freshly squeezed Meyer lemon Juice 3/4  oz. I love to support local distilleries specially where tradition makes the product truly unique. Such is the case with Heimat Fruit Liqueurs which are beautifully balanced and smooth.  Heimat is a German word which means home and captures the feeling of the place where you grew up. The recipes and techniques for these delicious fruit liqueurs were passed down to Ute Londrigan, Heimat’s founder, from her grandmother who used to make the liqueurs from her own backyard harvest in a small village in Düsseldorf.
