“Personal Identity” for #belkinabook At the end of the series “Revival”, I wanted to make a portrait, a generalized image of a modern human, of which one could say only that it was a woman. Her age, social status and emotions she was experiencing were supposed to stay unclear. Once I saw some selfie of my (mainly virtual) friend @catpugacheva and I was inspired to put the puzzle pieces of this image together. At the Museum of Human in Moscow, there’s a modern device, which can recognize your age, sex and emotions by your face, located in front of it. To what extent this person is now afraid, confused, upset or, vice versa, happy. I decided to create that informational circle in front of the heroine of my story. We live in the era when, using the phone and applications like this, we’ll soon be able to guess, who is in front of us. But the most surprising is the fact that we still cannot cope with the task of understanding and recognizing ourselves. And I think it is art, that helps us to do this. Helps us both, the artist and the viewer. Я хотела завершить серию Revival женским портретом - эдаким собирательным образом времени. И @catpugacheva, сама того не ведая, дала мне импульс собрать пазл этого образа воедино, одним своим постом из Музея человека. Где есть такой современный гаджет, который может распознавать по лицу, расположенному перед ним, возраст, пол, эмоции.  Насколько этот человек сейчас боится, насколько он смущен, насколько расстроен или наоборот счастлив. Я решила изобразить этот самый информационный круг перед героиней. Мы живем в эпоху, когда при помощи телефона и приложений можно будет угадывать, кто перед тобой лишь по одному клику. Но самое удивительное другое, что сложнее всего до сих пор понять и распознать самого себя. И мне кажется именно искусство помогает это делать. art / reference / timelapse ref: @bellamiie To be super honest, I’ve never felt as connected to my art as I do to my music. I really enjoy painting and drawing, but I can’t say that I’ve found a way to bring the same meaning to my visual art that I can bring to my songwriting. It has been a bit of an internal struggle to find an authentic visual voice (as you can probably tell if you’ve been following me for a minute) and it is something that kind of bugs me that I haven’t really shared. All of this to say, I’m starting to feel like a little bit more of me is making it through and that feels really exciting and good. Most of all, thank you for sharing your thoughts and reactions so far, and I can’t wait to keep creating together! ⚡️

So yes!! I am back Had a creative block for the last few weeks and was trying very hard to paint again. The suggestions from u guys made me look at it differently and The Coffee Painting workshop with @the.bakerninja helped me a lot to explore a new medium and overcome my creative block! The work “Besrat. Good news.” has interesting story. I made it specially for one Netherlands museum competition, but I was not correct. The competition was for designers to make the best product for their museum shop. But I was happy to be inspired by one of their collection artist to create a new work. I chose two #vermeer art pieces: Milkmaid and Women in Blue reading a Letter. I decided to make a mix of both and found beautiful and yang model with her own not easy destiny. As a many of other children she left her Homeland when she was small and try to learn new, to find her self here in Europe. During the creative process I found out that the meaning of her name Besrat is - good news! That fact has brought extra deep importance to the main concept of the work. In the work story she is getting a message and we hope there’s good news for her, and for us all! I’m also the one who left the “home” and found it in other place. But that’s not all. The work which was supposed for a one museum in the end found a home in other! In the beginning of this year other Art museum bought this work! I’m happy that the “Good news” now in @lamlisse! ❤️ У этой работы интересная история! Я взялась за неё специально для конкурса одного известного Амстердамского музея, но невнимательно прочитав условия ошиблась. Конкурс был для дизайнеров на лучшую продукцию для магазина музея. Но тем не менее, я рада что сделала ее. Выбрала по условию конкурса два шедевра Вермеера для вдохновения. Молочницу и Женщину в голубом, читающую письмо. Нашла замечательную модель, девочку с непростой жизненной историей. Она маленькой нашла новый дом для себя: семью и страну. Растёт здесь, учится всему новому. Но все равно, мы все приезжие, как бы мы не привыкали и не адаптировались, порой чувствуем себя немного инопланетянами. В процессе выяснилось, что Бесрат (имя девочки) в переводе с ее языка - хорошие новости. Я так и назвала работу. И работу в этом году приобрёл другой голландский музей @lamlisse в свою коллекцию. Odd… Fate’s roads are as winding as unpredictable: just as i’m reading Goethe’s Napoli diary, our NYC hawk – Sean Flood of course – happens to pass my mind, and know what? I bump into this delicious 2012 painting of him, from his first stay in Naples. . Naples: that hideous, rotten, stinking, outrageously pretty and irresistible widow of the South... I remember being served in Napoli, many years ago, the best dish ever with the most basic ingredients one can imagine: pasta, some olives, olive oil, tomatoes and basta. Maybe i’ve forgotten the leaf of basilicum, remembrance too is an odd phenomenon. The fact that couple of hours before i had a near death experience, driving along yawning chasms above a churning Tirreno in rains pouring out of Olympos, might have made the culinary event even more unforgettable. . This marvelous painting by Sean Flood reminds me of the morning after that Napoli storm: streets still wet under deepblue skies luring one to the open sea and all things earthly if not slimy and oozy. . But who still reads Goethe nowadays? We all should. One can put his trust in people reading him, if you ask me. And he saw Vesuvius erupt – not bad either. A ‘once-in-a-lifetime experience’, as he called it – so it might be comparable, i guess, with my aunt Gwendoline’s baking a strawberry pie fit for human consumption: if it happens you’d better be there.

ГАМАРДЖОБА ⠀ - так здороваются в Грузии ("Победы тебе") и так называется выставка Кети Мелкадзе, проходящая в Artstory (бесплатно! до 3 февраля) ⠀ Разгдядев в сетке не просто строительный материал, девушка-художница придумала из нее замысловатые фигуры, разукрасила и дала яркие, меткие названия. Выставка небольшая, обойти можно минут за 20. Увидела ее работы - животных, поэтому и пошла, а зацепили миниатюры "Две женщины", "Верный друг", "Верьте в чудеса". ⠀ Сходить советую, уютно и со смыслом. А место чуду обязательно в жизни надо оставлять, пусть и в названии работ необычной художницы ;)

[моя художественная биография] Что ж,рисовать я начала с 3 лет и ,конечно же,моим холстом стали стены.Тогда я не очень хорошо владела карандашом ,поэтому мои рисунки были чистым абстракционизмом(и бедой для родителей) : В 4 года я очень любила животных и рисовала только их,но уже фломастерами на листе А3. Где то в тоже время я открыла для себя энциклопедии с яркими картинками животных и до 8 лет я срисовывала лошадей,тигров ,косаток и скорпионов ,стараясь нарисовать их максимально похожими.С меня рос настоящий биолог ,ибо на вопрос какая твоя любимая сказка я кричала :»Энциклопедия!». : С 7 до 10 лет я ходила в Падиюн на рисование ,где все также рисовала животных,иногда балуясь пейзажами : И только к 11 годам я начала постепенно рисовать не просто картинки ,а создавать сюжеты.Этому была причиной друга учительница рисования ,к которой я до сих пор хожу и которая имеет очень необычное мировозрение и восприятие. Ну и в 12 лет меня прорвало на глубокомысленные рисунки с подтекстами и глубоким смыслами.Конечно,изобразить такое у меня не всегда получалось ,но передача эмоции й,окружающей системы жизни и общества приносит мне гораздо больше удовольствие ,чем просто изображение реальных предметов. : Я давно решила ,что свяжу свою жизнь с рисованием в той или иной мере,поэтому я вбила себе в этом голову ,что мои навыки всего лишь аматорство и мне срочно нужен академический рисунок (и это было и вправду необходимо)С этой мыслью в этом голове я проучилась полгода в художке в выпускном классе и это было просто замечательное время. : Сейчас же я продолжаю ходить к той учительнице и также хожу на занятия по академическому рисунку.Нет предела совершенству,так что я делаю все возможное,чтобы мой уровень не стоял на месте.Правда у меня часто не хватает времени и я не подолгу не рисую за что себя осень сильно корю. : Все в ваших руках и если у вас нет цели ,мотивации и самое главное -желания,то ни один педагог ,пусть даже самый лучший и дорогой вам не поможет.Поэтому закройте лень в чулане и вперёд! #nezhivaya #art #artstory #artexperience #experience #mylife #childhood #memories #motivation #creativity #ideas #selfdeveloping #imagination #life #routine #suggestions
