So excited about this opportunity to introduce healing powers of art to attorneys. ❤️ “Reed Smith continues its firm-wide Wellness Works initiative this year, marking February as “Arts for Wellness” month. Throughout the month, the firm’s U.S. offices offered a wide range of programming to firm employees in an effort to promote the mental, emotional and physical benefits of art. “Arts for Wellness” month is the brain-child of associate Aleksandra Phillips, who was a professional artist before becoming a lawyer. Tomorrow I begin a new exciting adventure. ⠀ Working with a wonderful art wellness program called Heart to Heart @hearttoheartaustralia . It’s the baby of inspirational artist Donna Rankin. The program seeks to empower young women, who are finding it challenging to navigate life, through the power of art. ⠀ ⠀ As a young woman I too found it challenging to find the tools to navigate the path. My compass was off & I lacked a strong friendship group to help me find my way. Bullying was a daily part of my life yet I found my compass would always steer me to art. Heaven ! Girls can be mean & often competitive. If you are going through this & find you are the focus of unwanted attention, I feel you. ⠀ ⠀ Know that one day you will become the woman who empowers others because you know that the road to self confidence is not by putting others down, like you have encountered, but by raising others up. ⠀ ⠀ I look forward to the next 8 weeks ahead.
