Thai food makes us very happy, eh actually Thai food with great ambience and a compact menu makes us very happy . @happythaiindia located in Atria Mall has a bright green and yellow vibe, plants- lots them dangling from the ceiling, open sushi counter, and a menu that is divided into Happy Thai and Happy Soba. Even though the name suggests Thai, besides usual Tom Yum Soup, Thai salads, Curries, and Noodles, they have a divided Japanese menu which consists of Maki Roll, Katsu Curry, and Yakisoba. Between these selections, we found Buff Bulgogi on the menu as well. Executive Chef James Biaka is trained at the famous Blue Elephant Cooking School in Bangkok, and the dishes that are replicated on the menu are not Indianized which we were glad about! We will be putting up stories about the dishes to tell you more about our experience!

The publishing course has been incredibly intensive, and I’ve barely gotten a chance to see the city, so I was SO happy to get out of the classroom/dorms for some coffee and pastries with the lovely @isabelrosedas this afternoon. Though I may not have much time to read while in this program, I’m super excited about all of the books she so graciously gifted me (can we just take a quick second to appreciate how gorgeous these covers are because I LOVE them ). • Anyways. 49 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | This one reminded me of TELL ME MORE by Kelly Corrigan - one of my favorite books from last year. Philpott speaks honestly about being satisfied with a life that has given her everything she's ever wanted - a thought that, at first glance, seems ridiculous, but a sentiment I relate to very strongly. As a mother and wife, I found many of her stories relatable. Truly, at times, I felt like I was sitting across from one of my best friends, drinking a glass of wine and discussing marriage, motherhood, and stay-at-home-momming with an honesty and realness you only find with someone you've shared a whole lot of life's ups and downs with. Also, there are moments of pure hilarity as I actually lol'd many times while reading on the plane home from vacation! This book is a gem and everyone needs this book on their home's bookshelves! . But as he’s waiting in the lobby of the L’Hotel Sixieme in Switzerland after an academic conference, still mulling over how to respond to his wife, he receives a string of horrifying push notifications. Washington, DC has been hit with a nuclear bomb, then New York, then London, and finally Berlin. That’s all he knows before news outlets and social media goes black. Now, 2 months later, there are 20 survivors holed up at the hotel, a place already tainted by its strange history of suicides and murders. Those who can’t bear to stay commit suicide or wander off into the woods. Jon and the others try to maintain some semblance of civilization, But when the water pressure disappears, Jon is shocked to discover the body of a young girl in one of the water tanks. As supplies dwindle and tensions rise, Jon becomes obsessed with investigating the death of the little girl as a way to cling to his own humanity. Yet the real question remains: can he afford to lose his mind in this hotel, or should he take his chances in the outside world? THOUGHTS: part THE SHINING, part STATION ELEVEN, part Agatha Christie, I’ve been looking forward to this one for some time and it for sure delivered. Loved the diary-esque narrative structure and I’m a sucker for any book that feels grounded and believable and allows the reader to wonder what they would do in a similar situation. The ending is brutal but effective, and I loved the isolated hotel setting (and what better place to read it than in front of a fire at a ski resort). Definitely make sure to check this one out when it comes out tomorrow, and thanks to #atria for the advanced copy!
