Not slowing down on life When people ask me how life has changed from no kids to having a baby, I always say that everything I do is exactly the same, I just have changed THE WAY of doing things. I understand some people get lost figuring out how to make those changes, how to adapt their activities to doing them with a baby, or they simply don’t want to put in the extra work and just give up on them. Because yes, it takes more work now to workout daily, travel, work, be non stop on the go or even relax. But hey, I’ve done it all. This weekend for example we took her to the lake and we still did everything we would have done without her: went kayaking, took a crazy ride on a waverunner, and relaxed. How? With less sleep, doing activities around her naps and taking shorter kayak trips (as she was on the boat with us too!) Anyways. You get my point. It’s not that Sofia is a perfect baby traveler lol, we are just adapting everything web did before, are not afraid to do it all with her, and don’t complain about the less sleep and more work because we get to do everything with our munchkin, which is more fun, at least to us! And we are back in LA! But not for long, taking off again to our New Years trip ✈️ Any guesses where? Here’s an update on how the 12h40min flight back BCN - LAX went: It was partly during the day since it took off at 3pm (there are no later direct flights on the way back) so I pushed her nap and she napped for two long hours when we took off. Then was up for two to three hours, and then she slept through the rest of the flight, for six more hours. So she slept +9 out of the almost 13h, amazing given it departing at 3pm. And she had her own seat so I didn’t have to hold her the whole time she slept. The hours where she is awake on a plane are not easy just because us as parents have to work hard on keeping her busy: we made sure she was as active physically as possible so she would get tired. We let her crawl w gloves on the back of the plane where the crew is at (she was a hit haha). She had her own seat so she was also bouncing around and playing. And we also walked w her up and down the plane. We take turns so the other can rest. As soon as we landed she was still sleepy as it was early AM in Spain time, but I kept her up through customs and all the way back home. Then we all showered and got ready for bed. And by then she was sleepy again. After such a long flight where she sleeps so much I’m also worried that she’ll want to sleep the night when we land. But she is more tired from the travels so she does. Not through the night of course. We always do the same: go to bed early, wake up in the middle of the night, we are up playing for a few hours, go back to bed and wake up at a decent local time. So we did that, woke up at 8am ready to take on the day... unpack & pack, work and... off to the airport tomorrow morning! #babyjetsetter for sure ha. I got 100000 questions about travels w a baby and I try to reply to all of you but again, every trip is different every age is different.
