What a weekend! 9/9 for the first time in ma life! Squats 132.5-140-145kg Bench 70-75-80kg Deadlifts 172.5-182.5-190kg Giving me 5kg PBs on each lift, and a 415 total. I wanted to bring a similar package to this to Juniors back in September but injury lyf, so I’m happy to hit similar now! . . This meet was cancelled last year, and there was no way I was gunna miss it this time! My amaze chiropractor cleared me back for lifting just over a month ago and reiterated the other day that I was free to lift heavy again! My injury was non-lifting related, and in my two-ish months off, I worked on my weaknesses and technique so my return has been pretty seamless thanks to my awesome coach @jbtrainnutri! ☺️ Obviously we didn’t peak for this meet or weight cut or lift close to these weights prior, and also didn’t have particularly high hopes. But when I was working up to what felt like opening singles last week, I quickly realised I hadn’t actually lost any strength and had no reason to doubt myself AT ALL! I’ve changed my attitude in the way I approach lifts a lot, and instead of trying ignore my nerves and smile through it all, I attack it and use those nerves as fuel. I attack my warm ups the same way I do top singles, and I don’t let myself doubt it for a second. I try to get so tight under that bar in squats and bench that I actually get quite hazy like I’m about to pass out. And in deadlifts, I just wiggle and do it! I don’t let myself doubt it off the floor, and I refuse to acknowledge how heavy it is, I just lift. It’s that simple. . . There was no pressure going into this meet and that was actually a nice feeling, it was just a good opportunity to see where I was working at and also to monitor my ability to select attempts and not go RPE 11 and get hurt . . Can’t thank the guys at @citygymportsmouth for putting on a stellar meet, for all of the spotters and loaders and to the powerlifting legends Chas and Dave for reffing! You guys made sure it ran as smoothly as possible, especially as we were working with one rack and one bench, and ranged in heights from 5’3” to like 6’5” and lifted from 80 to 280kg! Great teamwork!

For the last few Friday evenings, I've trained @thebendingbarbell under the watchful eye of John Clark. Who has been working with me on my conventional deadlift. This has complimented my programming from @orangutan1200. An equal lifetime pb deadlift, this was great considering my right glute was as tight as a breeze block lol. Light deadlifts tonight, jumped in with @carper_smiffy & Dan tonight. We all pushed it. Working sets 3 x 8, Craig did 90kgs, Dan did 70kgs & my working sets were 120kgs.
