So post-comp I’ve been struggling with seeing myself gain weight after being so lean for so long. I got used to how I looked and thought that I’d be able to maintain the same condition afterwards, which just isn’t realistic. While it is healthy for the body to diet, it is also healthy for the body to be in a calorie surplus and maintenance through different stages…of which are all healthy, especially in order to keep your hormones functioning properly!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Wanted to remind you today that you are beautiful no matter what stage you’re in of your fitness journey. You are not defined by your physical appearance or what your body looks like. If you’re having negative thoughts about yourself when staring at the mirror’s reflection, force yourself instead to point out three things you love about yourself, and mean them. Am I the only one that has a hard time finding a good bathing suit? This is my first time wearing a high-waisted one piece and I was really nervous about the outcome for two reasons: 1. I wasn’t really sure what my bikini line would be giving me post my trip to @europeanwax (‍♀️) and 2. My assets in the back are just a little lack luster. just locked in my spring break plans + I'M SO EXCITED!!!! ☀️ there are 42 days left.... so 21 days, two times #math ⠀ are you bathing suit beach pic ready?! are you planning to run the treadmill, download my fitness pal, or do some Pinterest ab workouts? I never used to leave those out but I ALWAYS ended up wanting to be the friend TAKING THE PICTURES.....+ probably wearing a cover up ⠀ but last spring break was so different. I was like "oh another pic? YES let's do it" because I PUT IN THE WORK to feel confident in my body!! it felt incredible. it was the first time I've EVER been that confident in a bikini... ‍♀️ and I didn't have to go hungry once ⠀ you know what's ironic?! my groups are 21 days long.... WHO KNEW ‍♀️ but 21 days TWO times?! damn mama, who is THAT on the beach?! my February group starts MONDAY...... and hesitation is the kiss of death so GO + click the link in my bio I'm already excited FOR you!!! Yesterday was a dream. Everything fell into place and I’m so grateful to have been awarded the Ms Fitness Model Overall title at the @icn_nsw state championship!⁣ ⁣ All of the training, nutrition, discipline, sacrifice, wins, losses, and improvements this year have been so self gratifying in themselves as I am on the journey to becoming my best self for life, not just a season or competition. I made a pact with myself to prioritise the things that are important to me and that get me closer to reaching my goals, even when that means bringing tupperware to family lunches or cheersing with kombucha instead of wine, or getting up two hours earlier to fit in the gym when I have a jam packed day ahead. I’ve stuck to the process to the made sure to do my best each and every day.⁣ ⁣ Whatever your goal is, don’t give up. It’s worth it. If I would have came last place it still would have been worth it. I felt so proud of myself: my dedication, my strength, my perseverance, and everything I’ve learned along the way, this was just the icing on the cake. ⁣ ⁣ Thank you to @hattieboydle and @the_sportsmodel_project for your support, direction, and example, and to @skinz_stage_team for making me feel beautiful!

After a bit of deliberation, I’ve decided to extend my competition season to one third and final show!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It’s been a mental battle after achieving my peak condition twice over the past four weeks, but I think I would regret it if I didn’t give this a shot. I'll be travelling back to Gold Coast for ICN Worlds on the 28th with the goal of winning my ICN Pro Card.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I gave all of my effort for the last two shows and I'd be lying to say that it's easy to continue to the daily cardio + training sessions, plus keeping track and planning my food, monitoring mood and energy levels, and keep fuelling the drive. I find that it's after the show is over when it is the hardest to stay on track!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ What's so great about flexible dieting and the "if it fits your macros nutrition strategy" that I follow year-round is that it allows for an 80/20 approach to food selection and quality whilst still achieving the intended results. I don't follow a meal plan but instead I choose, pre-plan, and prepare all of my food in advance, most of time allowing for room for "fun foods". However, in full "comp prep" mode (for me, 1.5-2 weeks prior to the competition), I make sure to focus on hitting my numbers to the gram, and become specific with the exact types of food I eat - at this stage of the game, 1% better can make all of the difference. It's more of a mental game than anything at this point, as it is all about maintaining and refining the condition that I'm in.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ With only 9 days until show day, my concentration will be to make each day count - which is a great mindset to have in general! Breaking down your goals into more manageable "wins" will massively help with staying motivated and on track. Today, my mini goals are to get all my training done before 5pm and to do some meditation.⁣ ⁣ @oneandonlykate
