No more sleeps ! I know, the suspense has been killing you . It’s been 1000 days since I last bought ready to wear. 1000 days . That includes bras & knickers & yoga gear. And I think that is a pretty big deal considering how much shopping I used to do. In 2015 I thought about working towards an all Me Made Wardrobe. It wasn’t really a conscious decision, just a random thought that stuck in my head. It took me about 18 months to get to the stage where I had enough Me Made to wear it everyday, this sewing your own wardrobe isn’t instant you know . Has it saved me money? I still spend money on fabric, and shoes. And machines! So. Many. Machines . So nope, not a money saving exercise lol. But it could be, if I just stopped buying fabric, shoes & machines. But we all know that ain’t gonna happen lol. Hubs has also started to benefit from my sewing obsession. And yay for him, he is actually embracing the stuff I make now (for a very long time this wasn’t the case). I love not shopping for clothes. I love not beating myself up for not fitting RTW. I love not having size labels in my clothes. I love wearing stuff no one else has. I love Hubs wearing what I make for him. I love feeling slightly smug (ok, not so slightly) when I get asked where I bought my top/pants/jacket or all of the above. Thanks, I made it - it has pockets! I do not miss shopping for clothes! My 25 year old self would be horrified by that statement . I love making. Love it with all my being. And I don’t see any reason to stop. I have so many ideas I want to make up. So here’s to another 1000 days, and the next... And the next...
