Achieving this reminds me of when someone once asked me “What motivates you?” and my response went a little like this:

“The reason why I love bodybuilding and lifting weights is that I see every training session as an opportunity to improve upon myself, and be better than the person I was yesterday. The FEELS after achieving this PB are why I lift. I think you can see my grin as I sit up actually. Doing it without a spot only made it all the sweeter.. I had that weight, and I knew it. Before 6.30am I had shown myself I could do tricky things and I don’t think you can underestimate the impact that has on the rest of your day.

A small PB today with 86.5kg for 5 reps. Although I am happy I did this, I know that my execution was quite messy. My set up was slightly off centre, was losing tightness and was inconsistent with the placement of the barbell. Overall, just had a bit of a brain fart ! -
However, as a result I knew what I had to do to make my back offs better and proceeded with 3x5 @81kg, much smoother and happier with these. Always learn from the mistakes you can and use them to get better! -
