I want to share a million pictures from this day! Holly & Ben are on the blog today. I love @massmoca And I’m grateful that it provided a safe haven on a stormy day for romance, love, and pie. Ben and Holly met while they were students at nearby Williams College and would sometimes go on dates at the museum. I loved how they brought their dating story to life in subtle ways on their wedding day.

Today a good friend texted me out of the blue, “You’re so good at social media”. What I stink at this!!! Phew, that feels really good to admit here. I truly feel this way. I mean, by instagram standards, my followers are growing at a snails pace and I’m fumbling every time on what to write. . ☺️ So I texted her, WHY do you think that? She said, “You show up. You connect with people beyond the photography you sell.” OMG. Thank you friend. I care very much about doing that here. . ‍♀️ Then she said “You pair your pictures with great captions that tell a story about each couple or shoot you post” Yes!!!! That’s what I want to do because my clients have wonderful stories to tell. . Lastly she said “You’re not afraid to put yourself in a post. It’s easy to see that your trustworthy” Wow, ok, so here’s the truth. I am NOT comfortable. Growing up my parents motto was be humble, be modest, don’t toot your own horn and don’t tell people your problems ‘cause they have their own. Yet, social media feels like it requires everything that is the opposite of these lessons. It’s a struggle for me for sure. . ‍♀️However I do agree with the need for clients to feel like they know me and can trust me before they hire me for something as important as their wedding day or family portraits. It’s a really big deal!! So I’ve worked hard to share a little about myself and I always take it from the angle of gratitude. What I look at the start of ICU shift this morning, not sure what I will look like at the end of a 14- hour busy shift . Few things to know about intensive care (ICU) rotation. 1. This is where the sickest patients are. Some of them may need a machine to breathe for them (ventilator) 2. Work starts at 6 am for both junior and senior residents. On short days, we work minimum of 10 hours or 14 hours on long days 3. We get to do cool procedures like intubation, central line, lumbar puncture, etc 4. We learn the most in ICU in my opinion 5. We switch between day and night shift real quick, can mess up with your sleeping cycle
