Lion King has always been one of my favorite childhood movies! So I have been really excited anytime I walk into a store and see all the new lion king shirts and toys! Madison and little Ray watched the original Lion King a couple days ago and now that’s all Madison is talking about lol! What is your favorite childhood movie?

Yesterday I attended the Self Love Experience by @Naturallybloom as a panelist for the No Rain, No Flowers segment. Although my morning started off crappy, I told myself I was about to speak in front of a bunch of people and needed to be up there with confidence. When I got on stage, the first question was “What’s your story?” In that moment, my mood from the morning was completely erased. — I created my brand to share my experiences with the world in hopes of inspiring at least one person. Overcoming my childhood and the relationship I didn’t have growing up with my parents. Letting go of the fact that I was a newlywed and didn’t witness any successful marriages in my family. Feeling lost because I didn’t know how to be a wife, fearing not being a good mother, and scared that I would lose myself. I realized, it’s my job to go after what I want as a woman, wife, and mother. I can do all three and more! Find the resources to share, create my own family traditions, and build support systems along the way. We all face obstacles but it’s our job to use our stories as motivation. — Thank you @danielledarlynn for inviting me to be apart of this wonderful event! Thank you to my family and friends who supported me today. Most importantly, thank you Joel and Ryann for helping me find my purpose and motivating me every single day. ❤️

Shhhhh!!! I think I hear the baby... damn. That’s the baby.... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Me: “Mama is not my name, Mama is not my name, Mama is not my name... damn. What is my name?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Aven: Mama!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ..........This is me, most days... if not externally, then oftentimes, internally. It’s funny and sad. Motherhood and adulthood can be beautiful and also a beautiful mess. I remember when my daughter was little little , I’d feed her, put her in the crib and start to tip toe out the room.... if she moved or made a noise I’d drop to the floor and crawl out the room on hands and knees. Just so she wouldn’t see me and start the process all over again. I had no energy, very little sleep , and still had to physically, mentally, and emotionally give of myself an insane amount of times a day. That’s when people break ... when you try to pour from the cup that has nothing left inside......you shake the cup, pound it on the table for that last little drop and it cracks , or shatters. You’re lucky if you can put the pieces back together.... and it takes time ... and love ... and constant cup filling and re-filling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is the importance of self care. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Whether it’s reading a book, getting a trusted sitter, asking for and securing significant help from your partner, co parent, friends etc., taking a trip, practicing yoga, going to the gym, going to the movies, getting a massage, hanging out with friends who fill your cup, doing whatever you do in public or private that glorifies your soul, painting, writing, ....whatever. Do that thing. And then don’t feel guilty about taking the time to do it. You deserve that sh*t periot. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This bright eyed, crazy haired beauty turned 7 months old on the 5th of July. • She is everything I ever wanted, everything I never knew I needed and a little of the things that drive me nuts (let’s be honest) sis is a handful. • Let’s talk HAIR! .... just because it’s WASH + STYLE day for this curly girl of mine. I like to put time into processes that create efficiency in our daily routines. Protective styling my girls’ hair is one of them. I have an entire process in how I like to keep their tresses healthy and well kept which you can find in my “Hair” Highlight. I’m no guru, but Here’s 5 tips for your Curly Cuties: . Maintain Moisture as needed. My favorite oils: Coconut. Jojoba. & Olive. . Research! Hair products are not one-size-fit-every-curl . Water is a curl’s best friend. NEVERRR detangle without water. & if you ask me, always finger detangle first with lots of moisture before using a tool . Night time protection is key. A satin pillowcase and/or a satin bonnet will help avoid matting, drying and breakage caused by bedding . When protective styling, tension does not mean tight. With correct technique, there’s no need to pull with force at the scalp when braiding/twisting . ➰BONUS: practice makes perfect! Want to start styling your little ones hair yourself? Watch a few videos, give it a try and be GENTLE✨ #ChasityLondon has been getting her hair consistently styled since she was 9 months. While her hair texture is different than mine, I’ve grown to learn how to care for her curls! SWIPE! She dreads the process, but is always happy with the results. This style will last 2-3 weeks. I think it’s time I gave you all the baby run down!! somehow I haven’t done this yet and it’s almost time!!! . First, we are having another boy!!! I wasn’t sure if I mentioned it before but we are so excited to be parents to 2 gorgeous little boys!! As for me..I’m always out of breath and my bladder is killing me, I can barely walk. I’m also really emotional about anything related to children....I legit can’t read or watch the news anymore! Can’t handle it!! I’m terrified about how to manage a 2 year old and a newborn...like....how!!! . Im 160 lbs of preggo goodness! 10 more pounds than I gained with Atticus. I have not worked out consistently and I eat whatever I want‍♀️. I haven’t used any creams or bio-oil on my belly this time around, I used it everyday with Atticus..no stretch marks yet, which makes me think it’s genetic?!! . I’m now 33 weeks, and hoping to make it to 37 weeks, my scheduled c-section date is August 19th... that’s right I’m growing a little lion !! Any Leo parents out there?
