I’m definitely not one of those guys that claim kettlebells are the best thing since sliced bread .. but .. I like them a lot for this particular movement .
.
Skull Crushers with the kettlebells offer these unique benefits over a barbell or dumbbell:

1. The kettlebells have a lowered weight distribution which provides constant tension on the triceps due to the angle of pull
2. The kettlebells allow you to keep the weights closer to your head which helps maintain the alignment in the shoulders and increases the ROM which emphasises the involvement of the long head of the triceps
3. The kettlebells reduce the pressure on the elbows due to the lowered centre of mass which shortens the lever between the elbow and the wrist
