(Continuing.. part 2) I was able to get paid for old things that I bought for a bargain and flip for 20-50 times what I had originally paid. So with this Felipe and I started selling used items we would find at garage sales, thrift stores or even our own things that we didn’t want anymore. . . Our inventory cost was very little and our return was very high compared to how much we were spending. All along we never took any of the profit out of the business. Both of us kept our full time jobs and we would list and ship when we got home after work some days we would be up until 1am shipping items on a work night. These are some of the sacrifices you have to make. . I remember spending all my weekends on garage sales and then cleaning, taking photos and listing the items. It was so much work but I was so happy to do it. I just couldn’t believe that we were making money out of used items. It was almost like a game to me. . In the beginning we focused on toys because those were things that had more sentimental value for people and harder to find. I think used toys is a place that you can still focus on eBay, you reach a special niche as in collectors and what not. We focused a lot on toys but also sold a little bit of everything as in books, clothes, kitchen items and etc, but I would say the most profitable was used toys. I would buy a Star Wars toy for $2 and sell it for $80, the profit was just amazing. . So you might ask “how did you know what would sell?” I really didn’t. I would go to garage sales and look for unique things that I thought it might had some value, then I would check on my Ebay app for the same thing on eBay and check how much the last listings sold for (under filter completed/sold listing) and how much it was for sale on other Ebay listings and this was a good indicator if I should buy it or not after all even if I did a bad buy the garage sale items were so cheap that I could take the risk of the $2 loss. I can’t believe that I just let such a special day pass us by without mentioning here. . . April 14th! . . April 14th has been a special day for us for the past 5 years because some very important things have happened to us on that day. . . Let me start by April 14th, 2014. This was the day that we opened our LLC, which is Hathor LLC (one day I will make a post of how we picked that name as well, as I believe there was a subtle angel message to us on that too) so on 4/14/14 we registered and literally started our business which at the time was just selling used garage sale items on eBay, then last night I went to google to see the meaning behind that day, the day where everything started to us. . . So I searched and it showed that the number 4 is the number of angels, mind that our business developed into ANGEL heart boutique, and that three 4s in a row; 4/14/14, show that the angels have an important message to deliver. . . Fast forward a year, 4/14/15 that’s the day that I left my job to work at Angel Heart Boutique full time, at this time we had already stopped selling used items and developed to an online boutique. . . 4/14/16 this is the day that Felipe left his full time job at Seagate Technologies to come help and work with me full time at Angel Heart Boutique. . 4/14/18 this is the day that we moved our warehouse from our former home to a 7000sq ft area. . . But all that I’m trying to say is that yes we worked really hard to be here, but we also had the help of the angels we asked for their help, we asked for their blessings and their guidance and their messages are everywhere, showing and proving that they helped us get here, they often say that angels speak to us in subtle messages, thru a music, a sign, a nostalgic object, etc. . . I guess you can choose to see divine everywhere or you can live thinking that we are alone and have nobody to ask for help. It really is up to you. . . And we chose to see DIVINE and God’s presence on everything that we do! . . We choose to see the divine surrounding us everyday, on every step and decision that we make. . . . This is just another little piece of our story that I wanted to share with you guys! . .
