This is a wall of 999 pure silver kettles —— How extravagant, I thought, when I was visiting Fangcun wholesale tea market. For a person who does not own expensive jewellery, I was curious but sceptical. Tea, even for fine artisan tea, should be an approachable routine with affordable teawares! I was visiting this silver teaware specialty store under my tea teacher’s suggestion. Because she said I have done what I can with glassware, it’s time to upgrade... At the time, I was still not keen, I thought I will make do with just a clay kettle. I have no plan to host a formal tea event at the Chinese Palace (故宫) as my tea teacher had. David was also skeptics, we have plans to relocate (we will talk more about this in a later post), and he said it’s not the time to fork out more money for softer water!
