CC-J has been a little quiet on the gram but it doesn’t mean things have been quiet behind the scenes! My husband and I just bought our first home ❤️ we’ve been boring people senseless with house chat but we moved over Easter and are finally IN. One of the main perks of our new place is the fantastic garden, I have NEVER had outdoor space in London before and it’s a game changer. Eventually we want to build a beautiful garden office but for now there is a slightly eccentric summer house which is the new home of CC-J in the meantime I want to share a more rounded view of the brand and all the things that inspire us, so expect to see more garden pics (and not always my mums now!) as well as snaps of our journey as we turn this place into our dream home...for now

OUBAS CARE | Do you know how to look after for your woollens? ——— • Air your knitwear after use. Wool does not need to be washed frequently. Hang it in your bathroom to naturally steam! • The preferred way to clean wool is by hand. Use luke warm water and a gentle soap. (We love a wool bar from @the_soap_dairy!) • You can avoid shrinking your knit by leaving it to soak first, before squeezing soap gently through. • Dry cleaning can damage the fibres or the environment through use of harsh chemicals. • The friction from your washing machine can felt wool - the marriage of soap and heat can shrink and fuse fibres. • Rinse in cold water, as heat increases the likelihood of felting. • Don’t wring or hang to dry - wet wool stretches easily. • Roll the knit in a towel to soak up and excess water. • Adjust the shape gently and dry it flat. • Enjoy wearing your knitwear for years to come. —— Wool is one of the most resilient fibres, with a natural breathability, anti bacterial and anti microbial properties. OUBAS | There is a beautiful growing wave of awareness following slower fashion; valuing ethical manufacture, aware of the damage that the fashion industry is having on the environment. —— When I founded Oubas in 2012 it was from a deep desire to create beautiful pieces which would be cherished for years, made in good quality raw materials, made well, as local to me here in Cumbria as possible. To me that feels sustainable, I struggle to purchase anything I won’t wear over and over due to love. For the first three years I made every item myself. I must have produced well over a thousand items in that time. Passed through my hands, worn now by many of you. I still find there is a magic hard to define in creating by hand and passing this on to another to wear close to their skin. —- The connection we have to our clothing, as to food, is so important.
