Without doubt the most traumatic birth I have ever attended. Mama goat is on the left, her name is Daffy and she is one of my most precious girls here at Whistlebare. She is the only adult daughter of elderly matriarch Blossom that we have and she is a wonderfully friendly sweetheart. It took me nearly an hour to help Daffy birth her kids. The first one had his head backwards and I despaired of ever getting him out and was stunned that he was still alive when born - hard to see through all the tears. He was followed closely by his sister who’s legs were back, so tricky too. Most heart warming of all was when lovely Damsel came over to help Daffy with her babies. As the Annual is a nod to the childhood annuals of old, it’s pages have a few splendid activities and puzzles all designed by the fab @katiegreenbean ✏️✏️✏️ Katie has created a spot the difference with John, a word search, title page, and an incredible two page spread which really bring our Mill to life - a spot Mr Smoke in the Mill (just a corner of which is pictured above). How amazing is the detail on all those machines?! Mr Smoke is John & Juliet’s much loved old rescue cat. There are two Mr Smokes in the crop above, just in case you feel the need to practice before your copy arrives.
