He sits in his kennel waiting for someone to spare a glance at him yet he keeps getting passed by. Won’t someone please give him a chance? Rudolph deserves a REAL forever home with a family who will love and cherish him. This adorable boy was brought in as a stray to the @brookhaven_animalshelter after being picked up by an Animal Control Officer in August of 2015. No one has come in to look for him and no one has the heart to tell him that his family is not coming for him. My heart breaks for this poor boy, discarded like yesterday’s newspaper. I have a very hard time understanding why people bring dogs into their lives only to dump them in the shelter or release them out to the streets when they don’t want them anymore. A dog is not disposable, it’s a family member; a living breathing animal with feelings just like you and me. Have we as human beings lost our ability to care? All dogs deserve better than this…Rudolf deserves better than this! Rudolph is an energetic boy who is looking for nothing more than a warm place to call home and a loving family to call his own. In return, he will give you loyalty and more love than you can imagine. Rudolph is a red brindle Terrier Mix, about 60 pounds, 9 years young, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, heart-worm negative and micro-chipped. He knows his basic commands, walks nicely on a leash but needs to be an only dog in a home. With Rudolph by your side you’ll need no other! A savvy experienced adult only household that will continue training would be best. A meet and greet is required at the shelter to be sure the family is the right match for this big boy. I waited and waited for my family to come and bring me home, I was heartbroken because they never came, why didn’t they even look for me. I was so frightened and nervous when I came to the shelter, I have come a long way but unfortunately I still need a home. Being inside my kennel in the shelter still makes me nervous... it’s so loud, but once I am out I am a more relaxed. I love to play and love people and hoping soon I will have a family of my own to love. I need a dog savvy owner and I really need a family with no other pets. I am a big boy so no young children. I am active, I know my basic commands and love agility. Nitro is looking for an individual/family to share his world with, and he has so much love to give! He would really enjoy a bed to curl up in and some daily play time with a new best friend. Nitro is about 50 pounds, estimated to be 4 years young, has a beautiful grey brindle coat, is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, micro-chipped and heart-worm negative. Nitro needs be your one and only-- no dogs, cats, or kids for this spoiled boy! An adult-only home would be the best fit for this hunk. Romeo @brookhaven_animal shelter is yet another forgotten senior who has been waiting behind shelter walls for over 3 1/2 years. He arrived at the shelter back in June of 2015 and has been longing for a loving home and family ever since. This boy is a beautiful, brindle, Terrier Mix who is about 9 years young, 60 pounds, knows all his basic commands, and is eager to please.
