So much pure joy in this photo, which perfectly describes K + R’s wedding day (+ relationship). What you cannot see in this photo is the weather outside; a full blown severe thunderstorm + down pour of a day. Throughout the entire day, my team along side of K + R’s photographers, videographers, caterer + florist worked diligently to serve them with our whole hearts to make sure nothing took away their joy. With wet shoes + full hearts we worked diligently to implement our rain plan on a 100+ acre garden outfitted with the most gorgeous greenhouses. The rain plan turned out more beautiful then our sun plan + we will be sharing some of the gorgeous details in our next few posts. But more than the gorgeous details, what really stands out is how we all came together as a team that day for our incredible couple to make sure their wedding day, was filled with more joy + love then all the rain drops that fell outside. It was a day that I would do again 100 times over just to see them smile like this on their wedding day. We met over email and telephone - Anne lives in Holland and had to plan her wedding remotely. We talked of wedding design and palette and she told me about her rose garden and the story of how she and Zach met and became a couple. In the summer, she sent me pictures of her beautiful garden in full bloom. I carefully chose the flowers to reflect Anne’s gentle spirit and soft aesthetic. This moment- presenting Anne with her bouquet - brought me to tears. They, like Anne and Zach, fit perfectly.

If you’re going to have a sweetheart table, make it special. Afterall, you are the two most important people at the wedding.

When I first began designing florals for weddings, I didn’t think much about where it would take me. So far, I’ve styled charming old barns, elegant historic estates, expansive farm fields and cool industrial spaces - and was beguiled by them all. Yesterday, we styled a library. As a life long lover of books, I can’t tell you how excited I was for this opportunity. What a privilege! The icing on the cake was this glorious sunset over Philadelphia’s rooftops bathing us in color just as we were putting on the finishing touches. Enchanting.
