MADDIE UPDATE: 37 DAYS SEIZURE FREE, 417 DAYS NO OPIATES, 116 DAYS NO BENZOS! Yesterday Maddie was a little fussy and so this morning her hospice nurse is coming to draw her blood. It has been 17 days since her last infusion and even her hospice doctor is completely blown away at this girls resilience. They have never seen someone, let alone a child, in end stage liver failure doing this well. Every couple weeks she is seen by the liver transplant team because they truly have never seen anything like this. Her liver is essentially not functioning however here she is, babbling, smiling, and loving life. Cannabis allows Maddie to be completely opiate free despite a failing liver and constant internal bleeding. Hemp allows her to kick her legs without pain from her osteoporosis and dislocated hips. This girl proves that love, hope, and cannabis can save your life. Our move and her health have made things very hard for us lately. It was a big day today for the cannabis community, we had two very important rulings on cannabis that affect us all as medical marijuana patients. Up until TODAY, concentrates were not protected under the medical marijuana act. Which means us medical patients can now posses concentrates & extracts without being afraid. ALSO, courts ruled that testing on cannabis products is NOW required. Which is obviously something that should be very important to us as patients & consumers. Medical marijuana is used for many reasons, some use it for anxiety, some might use to help them go to sleep, others may use for chronic pain management and some may use it VERY seriously and it is HUGE that we are taking more steps towards the right direction. May is mental health awareness month! Can we talk about how CBD has saved me?!! I suffer from severe anxiety, bipolar 2 and debilitating clinical depression. CBD and marijuana has SAFELY gotten me off of 3 medications. . In the past, without medication, depression can very much get the best of me. So bad that it has made me suicidal. You read that right. It’s not a matter of how good or bad my life is, it’s purely a chemical imbalance that I’ve fought my entire life. The side effects of medications were disastrous. . Cannabis saved me.
