My favorite Chimala overalls are disintegrating. I’ve had them repaired twice and now I’m thinking that I just look like a hobo wearing them with all of their blown out holes and threadbare, torn knees and that it’s time to throw in the towel and buy a new pair. Every single time I design a bouquet I get about 1/2 of the way through and I hate it... Litterally, I want to toss it and start over. It is a frustrating process. I always set myself up for success with the best blooms and I begin with excitement. This excitement starts to wear off when I see the chaos that the bouquet seems to be in that middle stage. It is awkward and disconnected and it is hard to see through the mess at what it can become. I have learned to push through this phase, because, I know from experience that the end result far outways the middle. I find this process to be similar when running a floral business. We start with enthusiasm. We take workshops, set up our design space and start strong. Somewhere in the middle we get frustrated. Clients start to be more particular, your space becomes disorganized and you may find it challenging to see the success that awaits. Push through this messy part of your business. Just like with my bouquet process there is extraordinary beauty for you at the finish line. (FYI - This video is a great example of a messy middle with a strong finish. I hated my middle so much I almost stopped filming... ‍♀️)
