Y’all know how I cook almost every meal in cast iron, right? So, when @benchcraft contacted me about trying out their Cast Iron Handle Guards, I was immediately all in for the experiment. #ad I was intrigued when I saw the gorgeous folded leather design of each handle that’s assembled with a single striking solid brass rivet. So, I decided to test out the handles with one of my favorite Sunday dinners. This Gluten Free Broiled Rosemary Chicken Parmesan starts on the stove, then finishes cooking under the broiler. I admit that the dish is a cinch to make. However, getting the hot, heavy skillet from the stove to the oven was always an ‘Am I going to get burned a little bit this time?’ challenge for me. Well, I’m happy to report that my set of two American Bench Craft Cast Iron Handle Guards slid right onto both of my CI skillet handles in seconds. They protected my hands perfectly. I honestly didn’t feel the slightest bit of warmth when I comfortably slid my hot skillet into the oven. And, they also came right off of each handle easily, making the in-blazing-hot-oven removal process last just a few seconds. When the Rosemary Chicken Parmesan was done, I had the same easy, almost effortless experience using the Cast Iron Handle Guards to remove the skillet from the oven. I have to admit that I absolutely love these CI handle guards now.
