Dom Perignon 1976-1978-1980. Three very close vintages that performed differently. I think 1976 and 1978 shown better potential than the 1980. Having had other 1980’s in the past, I won’t say it is a poor vintage, but maybe just this one bottle didn’t open up as it shouldve! 2011 Pierre Peters Les Chétillons: I love this Champagne. When I saw it on the beach list, I couldn’t resist. Although typically a wine I would suggest holding for a reasonable period of time, the 11 is drinking remarkably well already. I don’t know how it will age. Flowers and citrus. Remarkable Champagne given the vintage. Perfect on the beach. Paired with “Life’s What You Make It” by Talk Talk (), “Cherish the Day” by Sade and “Rebel Girl” by Bikini Kill. Champagne Veuve Clicquot, La Grande Dame 2006 Vintage 2006, compared to 2008, was sunnier and more luscious. The mouthfeel is characterized by a mix of roundness, softness and litheness. The acidity is satirical, exaggerated like a caricature, almost overwhelming. The main aspect that was reprimanded from the Prestige cuvee was a close resemblance to the vintage 08’ with similar volume and style.
