About last night...extraordinary opening of @galleriavikmilano and presentation of the new vintage of @vik_wine ✨ Such an intense and unforgettable journey through Chilean aromas Milla Cala 2014 and Vik 2013 were outstanding...rich in perfumes and so surprising with their enjoyable acidity. Well integrated tannins and very balanced structure. Long finish for these elegant wines. We can understand during the tasting what an important interaction there is between terroir and winemaking techniques if you want to produce a great wine! Food was great too and what about the location...this hotel is turning into a real work of art. Every detail is special because it is unique ✨❤️ . . Вместо осенних кленов Чили балует осенними виноградниками. ⠀ В апреле-мае по чилийским виноградникам разливаются краски из палитры художника: пламенный кармин, жженая сиена, охра, бордовый, местами ещё проглядывает зелёный. ⠀ Такой фон эффектно оттеняет чернильные грозди винограда на лозах, которые остались после сбора урожая. ⠀ Всего час/два на машине от Сантьяго – и можно любоваться алыми виноградниками с веранд хозяйств за бокалом пряного Карменера. ⠀ ⠀ В Чили не стекается армия блогеров на цветение сакуры,глицинии, жакарнады, белой и розовой магнолии - хотя все перечисленное цветет на улицах столицы и щедро балует прохожих своими красками и ароматом. Chile Carménère “Casillero del Diablo” Reserva 2016 - Concha y Toro Rapel Valley, Chile. This winery was founded in 1883 by the Chilean entrepreneur Don Melchor de Santiago Concha y Toro and nowadays Concha y Toro winery is by far one of the most important wine companies in South America. Headquartered in Santiago de Chile, Concha y Toro winery owns over 8,700 hectares of vineyards, with 26 different grape varieties. Carmenere found in Chile the perfect terroir to give its best expressions, especially in the Maipo Valley and in the Rapel Valley, in a warm climate. After the harvest and the fermentation process, there is the maturation moment: 60% in French oak barrels and 40% in steel tanks. What about the curious name? It was the founder of the winery who decided to give this name to the wine: after the disappearance of some bottles of wine he thought it was the devil’s fault! . Ruby red color. Remarkable expression of Carmenere with typical notes of plum, blackberry and spices. Herbaceous notes (green bell pepper). Hints of coffee and oak from barrels. Medium acidity, medium tannin and medium bodied. Je ne bois pas souvent de vins chiliens mais je dois vous avouer que celui-ci est un excellent rapport qualité-prix! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have to admit I don't drink that much Chilean wines but that one is the proof you can find great value wines in this country I don't drink that much cabernet sauvignon wines either, so the fact I really liked that one means a lot. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This Aconcagua Alto 2016 is produced by @errazurizwines Actually, it is a blend with a great proportion of cabernet sauvignon (85%) with some petit verdot and cabernet franc. The vineyards are located at 700m of altitude, in the Aconcagua mountain region, usually colder climate than other wine- producing areas in Chile. Grapes are fermented in stainless steel and the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels (20% new). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Notes of blueberries, exotic spices with a hint of smoke.
